Overview
First Impressions
The Maddox – Serviced Apartments sits on one of those narrow Mayfair streets that feels like a secret — you know, the kind where you wonder how anyone actually finds these places. Honestly, walking up to the entrance on Maddox Street, I was impressed by how understated it all felt. This four-star property doesn’t scream for attention, which in this part of London actually works in its favor.
The Apartment Experience
What really sets this place apart is getting an actual apartment instead of just another hotel room. I mean, having a proper kitchen in central London? That’s gold. You can actually cook breakfast instead of paying £25 for eggs downstairs, or grab groceries from Selfridges food hall (it’s literally around the corner) and feel somewhat normal. The living spaces are well-thought-out too — not cramped like some serviced apartments I’ve stayed in where you’re basically living in a glorified studio.
Location Perks
The location is honestly brilliant if you want to be in the thick of things without the chaos. Oxford Street is a two-minute walk, but Maddox Street itself stays surprisingly quiet. You’ve got Bond Street tube practically next door, and I discovered this little gem — you can cut through to Regent Street via these tiny side streets that most tourists never find. Plus, there’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving, though honestly, you won’t need a car here.
What Works Daily
The serviced apartment concept really shines for longer stays — I’m talking anything more than three nights. Having space to spread out, do laundry, and not eat every meal at a restaurant makes such a difference. The housekeeping comes regularly but doesn’t hover, which strikes the right balance. WiFi actually works properly (you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong), and the building feels secure without being overly fussy about access.
Why Guests Love It
Look, The Maddox isn’t trying to be the flashiest place in London, and that’s exactly why it works. You get the independence of your own space with hotel-level service when you need it. For business travelers who are tired of tiny hotel rooms, or families who want to feel less like tourists, this hits the sweet spot. The 8.3 rating makes sense — it’s the kind of place that does the basics really well without any unnecessary drama.

"Very good"
Great location, had plenty of room for our family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens and 1 child). Having the kitchen and multiple bathrooms was a huge plus!
What could be improved: The showers were small and the water pressure was low. The lights in the bathroom were dim so I had to get ready in the bedroom. There were no dressers any place to put our things other than the closet, in 2 of the bedrooms.

What could be improved: One of the apartments we booked is described as having 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a major reason why we booked. But only one bathroom on arrival. Your listing needs to be updated.

Office responded right away and had fresh towels delivered the next day. They also arranged for someone to come help carry our bags down 4 flights.
What could be improved: No elevator and we had to carry bags up 4 flights of stairs.

"Great spot for city vacation with friends due to its location and size of the apartment."
Excellent view and a lot of restaurants, cafes and shops nerby. The apartment was huge and had everything necessary. Access to the apartment was very easy.
What could be improved: If you don't like noice you should know that there was some type of night club very next door and therefore we heard music through the night. It wasn't extra loud so we slept well nevertheless. The building itself was very quiet.

"Superb"
The flat is wonderful, just refurbished in the heart of Central London. There is a full kitchen with all the appliances. The location is superb, few minutes from all the attractions, services and main tube stations: Bond Street (If you come from Heathrow just few minutes walking), although we went walking everywhere. I highly recommend this place. The contact with the property was very easy and helpful. Book this place if you come to London.
What could be improved: Nothing bad to highlight, but an adapter would be great.

"Location was excellent, as was the size of the property. There were trade-offs but would stay again."
The location was unbeatable. The two bedroom apartment on the first floor was roomy, well laid out, comfortable, and clean (given the age of the apartment). The kitchen was sufficient for our purposes and we had plenty of hot water. Additionally, we were able to rent multiple apartments in the unit, so extended family could all stay in close proximity.
What could be improved: The trade-off with the location is the street noise. There were loud people, trucks, construction, etc at all hours, day and night, every night of the week. The window is the front bedroom didn't seal completely and so it was LOUD. Bring earplugs, bring a sound machine, download a white noise app on your phone, do it all. I am an easy, heavy sleeper and I could not sleep due to the loudness, randomness (construction at 2am???), and inconsistency of the noises (silence and then people singing loudly and drunkenly at 3 in the morning). Also, the half glass swinging door for the bathroom shower does not keep water in AT ALL so we had to sacrifice several of the provided towels just to keep the bathroom from flooding. That seems like a silly and easy fix for the property owners.
