Walking up to Stunning flat in Notting Hill with roof top on Portobello Road, you immediately know you’ve found something special. The Victorian terrace building sits right in the heart of one of London’s most charming neighborhoods, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better. I mean, you’re literally on the famous Portobello Road — the same street where locals hunt for antiques on Saturday mornings and tourists snap endless photos of those iconic pastel-colored houses.
The Space Itself
This four-star flat feels more like staying at a stylish friend’s place than a typical hotel room. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of being somewhere authentic rather than sterile. The apartment has that perfect balance of modern comfort and character that’s actually pretty hard to find in central London. What really sets it apart though is the rooftop access — and trust me, that view over the Notting Hill rooftops at sunset is something you’ll remember long after you’ve gone home.
Living Like a Local
Having your own kitchen here changes everything about how you experience the city. You can grab fresh ingredients from the weekend market literally outside your door, or pop into one of the nearby delis for proper British treats. The whole setup encourages you to live more like a local rather than just passing through. There’s something quite lovely about making your morning coffee while looking out over the bustling street below, watching the neighborhood wake up.
The Neighborhood Magic
Portobello Road has this energy that’s impossible to fake — it’s been attracting artists, musicians, and creative types for decades, and you can still feel that bohemian spirit today. Within a five-minute walk, you’ve got Everything from vintage bookshops to that famous restaurant where Hugh Grant’s character lived in “Notting Hill” (though honestly, the whole area is more interesting than the movie suggests). The tube connections from Ladbroke Grove or Notting Hill Gate stations mean you’re never more than 20 minutes from anywhere you actually want to be in London.

"Good location, nice place, know that there is a lot of street noise."
There was a suite king bedroom with a bathroom with a tub street facing. Other room was a queen bed and there was another bathroom with shower in the hall. Large windows for natural light, patio and rooftop. A coffee machine with capsules. The host provided some capsules and allowed for an earlier check in. She was very good to work with. The property entry is on Portabello Market road. There was a lot of nice amenities provided. 12 min walk to the nearest tube stop by there is a bus stop 1 block away that goes to the station, bus 52 and 452.
What could be improved: As previous ratings suggest the larger bedroom has windows that face the Portabello road. There is a lot of noise at all times, with bars below there it is loud until 2am. The windows are thin so they don’t do a great job for noise protection. If you use a white noise maker it is manageable. Our sleep was not impacted as a result. The hall bathroom is very small with a tiny sink. The tub in the suite bathroom could use a curtain for showering. It was a bit dusty in unused areas and the rooftop could be cleaner and enhanced with a table.

The house was very nice and well situated in Notting Hill,
What could be improved: The downside of the situation of the house is that the bedroom to the Portobello Road was very loud from the street noises and it was difficult to sleep. I would recommend, if possible to install double glazing in this room.

"Good"
If you want to be in the middle of the action in Notting Hill, this location cannot be beat. You are in the heart of the daily street market and literally within walking (stumbling?) distance to many local pubs, restaurants and stores.
The flat is very roomy, which is what you pay for. Downstairs ceilings are very high, and it never felt crowded for the four of us...two adults, two teens. Also nice to have USB ports at some of the outlets to be able to charge devices without adapters.
Kitchen is equipped with coffee/espresso maker and came with several pods for morning brew. There were also some odds and ends in the cupboards, likely left over from previous tenants, e.g. teas, sugar, etc.
What could be improved: We were probably there in the hottest week of the summer, and the flat just never got to a comfortable temperature the entire six days we were there. We opened windows to get a cross breeze, and tried the portable "air conditioning" units but they only provided relief if you were literally right in front of them. You likely won't have this issue 50 weeks out of the year.
Also, if you're coming from the US, know that the handler of this flat will likely communicate by WhatsApp, which isn't used as widely in the states. After we got to the flat for the first time, I didn't know the code to the lockbox and didn't know to look into WhatsApp where the code had been left.
I agree with the other posters that the toilets are at odd heights and the showers aren't the easiest to get into and out of. But the towels and linens were good quality, so points for that.
Finally, it would be nice to have an "owner's manual" left for renters for a quick guide on how to use the TV, Internet, washing machine, dishwasher, freezer (which almost but not quite made ice), and other appliances that might be second nature for Brits but a little different for foreigners.

"Exceptional"
Все было отлично!!! Месторасположение удобства, кровати постельное белье, хозяин супер, ответственный человек сразу помогал отвечал на все вопросы. Вернемся еще сюда с удовольствием!
What could be improved: В первой ванной не удобно купаться нет шторки, по отоплению желательно сразу давать рекомендации! Но это все мелочи.

"Assolutamente consigliato"
Appartamento spazioso in ottima posizione, come in foto. Fornitissimo, non manca davvero nulla, ci sono anche gli adattatori per le prese elettriche. Letti comodi, bagni funzionali, host disponibile.
Portobello Road può essere rumorosa la sera, ma essendoci doppio vetro alle finestre della stanza più grande non si ha alcun problema a riposare.
What could be improved: Se proprio dobbiamo trovare dei difetti:
-non si possono aprire le finestre del bagno grande, ma si può arieggiare tenendo aperta la porta e la finestra della stanza
-il bagno piccolo ha un lavandino davvero mini, ma è comunque funzionale
-bisogna tenere le finestre chiuse per la vasta popolazione di piccioni del quartiere che altrimenti potrebbero entrare in appartamento

"Εξαιρετικη διαμονη σε καταπληκτικο σπιτι, σε υπεροχη περιοχη"
Το σπιτι ηταν καλυτερο αποτι περιμενα, και καλυτερο απο τις φωτογραφιες. Ανετο, φωτεινο, καθαρο, με μεγαλα δωματια, μεγαλο καθιστικο και κουζινα . Με χωρο φαγητου μεσα στην κουζινα και επιπλεον τραπεζαρια σε κλειστη βεραντα με τζαμαρια.
Σε εξαιρετικη και πολυ ασφαλη περιοχη. Ολα τα εβρισκες κατω απο το σπιτι η σε ενα τετραγωνο απο το σπιτι, δηλ σουπερ μαρκετ, γλυκα, φαγητο, φαρμακειο, καταστηματα για δωρα, pub, wine bar... Κατω απο το σπιτι γινοταν η φημισμενη ανοιχτη αγορα του notting hill. Οι μετακινησεις ευκολες και ασφαλεις, υπηρχαν δυο στασεις του tube σε 10 λεπτα περπατημα και στασεις λεωφορειων διπλα. Ωραια και ακριβη περιοχη, μπορεις να περπατησεις και να δεις θαυμασια σπιτια, γκαλερυ και μικρα παρκα, η να περπατησεις 15 λεπτα και να πας στους κηπους του kensington.
Εμεινα 9 μερες, για δουλεια και τουρισμο με την οικογενεια μου. Ακομα κι αν φανει λιγο ακριβο το κοστος αν φτιαχνεις πρωινο και ενα γευμα, εξοικονομεις παρα πολλα χρηματα και ειναι πολυ ευκολο με τη κουζινα που εχει (ολα miele).
Η Sole μας υποδεχθηκε με ακριβεια στο ραντεβου, με πολυ ευγενεια και ζεστασια και μας βοηθησε σε οτι χρειαστηκαμε. Απαντουσε αμεσα σε οτι ρωτησαμε και ηταν πολυ καλη.
What could be improved: Δεν ηταν οτι δε μαρεσε αλλα επειδη ειχε smart tv επρεπε να εχεις κωδικους απο netflix, η να φτιαξεις κωδικο bbc για να εχεις ποικιλια . Βεβαια μπορουσες να συνδεσεις το laptop , οποτε ηταν οκ.
