Overview
First Impressions
When I first spotted Boutique Barclay House London townhouse – West London, Kensington, Chelsea, Fulham on that quiet residential street in Fulham, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. The name’s a bit of a mouthful, but the building itself — this gorgeous Victorian townhouse — immediately caught my attention. It’s tucked away on Barclay Road, which is actually perfect because you get that authentic London neighborhood feel without all the tourist chaos.
The Neighborhood Vibe
What I love about this spot is how genuinely local it feels. You’re in Hammersmith and Fulham, which means you’ll find proper pubs on nearly every corner and those charming British high street shops that locals actually use. The Fulham Broadway tube station is close enough that getting into central London is pretty straightforward, but you know what? Sometimes I preferred just wandering around the area instead.
The Townhouse Experience
This four-star place really nails that boutique townhouse concept — it feels more like staying in someone’s incredibly well-appointed home than a typical hotel. Each room has its own character, which I mean in the best possible way. Mine had these lovely period features mixed with modern touches, and the bed was honestly one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in during my London visits. The bathroom was compact but thoughtfully designed, with that perfect shower pressure you always hope for but rarely get.
Local Insights
Here’s something the guidebooks won’t tell you — there’s this fantastic little restaurant called The Sands End just a few minutes’ walk away that serves incredible fish and chips. The staff at Barclay House actually recommended it, which shows they really know their neighborhood. Also, if you need groceries or just want to explore, the New Kings Road has everything from vintage shops to that reliable Sainsbury’s Local. Parking can be tricky around here (like most of London), but the hotel can arrange something if you’re driving.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this townhouse apart is the personal touch — it’s small enough that the staff actually remembers your name and preferences. The common areas feel like cozy living spaces rather than sterile hotel lobbies, and there’s something really appealing about having your own little London base that doesn’t feel corporate or cookie-cutter. Plus, with a 9 out of 10 rating from guests, I’m clearly not the only one who appreciates this approach to hospitality.

"Perfect accommodation for a stay in London with a distinct personal touch."
Charlotte and Adrian are wonderful, friendly hosts who have thought of everything. The accommodation is spotless. Every morning we would find a wonderful, light breakfast awaiting us in the kitchen area, enough to get us on our way for the day. The neighbourhood is quiet and secure. Charlotte checked in with us regularly to enquire if there was anything we needed. Fulham Broadway Tube Station is just a short walk away as are. numerous bus stops. We could not recommend Boutique Barclays House more highly.
What could be improved: Nothing.

Great location, quiet, close to the tube and many restaurants. Charlotte was extremely helpful and gave us very detailed instructions regarding location and travel through the city.
Breakfast was good.
What could be improved: Room was small but we were alert to that after looking at their website.

"Our stay was spectacular and the residential area is safe and provides many shops and amenities!"
We had a wonderful stay at The Barclay House B&B. This was our second stay and the hospitality is always great. Charlotte and Adrian are the best, friendly, helpful to ensure our stay was special each time and again has welcomed us back. We especially enjoyed the lovely fresh pastries, fruit, and beverages provided daily. what a nice treat. The rooms and ensuites are exceptionally comfortable and clean. Most of all the location to great restaurants and transportation are all within a 5 minutes walk.

"Absolutely Lovely!!!!"
There's so much to like about Barclay House, I'm not sure I'll fit it all in. First, the townhouse is located in a quiet, pristine residential street in a lovely area of Fulham, a few minutes walk from the Fulham Broadway (District Line) tube station, a large Waitrose, Eel Brook Common Green and many nice restaurants. Those are the reasons behind why we booked. But they're not why we'll be returning -- and we most definitely will, if there's availability. Far more impressive were the high-standard furnishings, fixtures and fittings, amazingly comfy bed, and immaculately clean condition of the room and ensuite. The hosts, Charlotte and Adrian, are not only experienced travellers themselves (we learned), but they're intuitive, so they understand what their guests want and need. They were friendly, knowledgeable about the area and helpful but weren't intrusive. There's no "B&B" sign on the building (you get the exact address when you book), which makes you feel like you're part of the neighbourhood, and also lends a sense of being secure. Finally, there was the breakfastL warm croissants, a wide variety and unlimited supply of coffee and teas, and light breakfast offerings for us to enjoy at our own convenience. We needed to get out early every morning, so we appreciated being able to get coffee and a warm bite without having to either make it ourselves, n sit in a hotel dining room or wait in a queue at a cafe. Overall, what did we like about Barclay House? Pretty much everything..
What could be improved: Barclay House suited our needs to a T; so for us, anyway, there's nothing to write here.

"Perfectly wonderful stay"
Our first stay at Barclay house and it was perfect. Great location for us because our daughter lives close, but also close to the tube and buses. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area. My husband and I will be staying there again.
What could be improved: Wish the room was a bit larger but we made it work. Coffee and breakfast were great. Charlotte was very accommodating.

"Ideal for our short trip."
Location was good. Room clean.
What could be improved: Room was quite small. Would have preferred to have kettle in room rather than outside although kitchen area was next to our room.
