Overview
First Impressions
When I first walked up to Boutique Flat near O2 & Excel, I’ll be honest — it’s not what you’d expect from a typical hotel. This four-star property sits tucked away in Southcott House, and you get the sense you’re staying somewhere locals actually live rather than in some sterile tourist bubble. The building has that modern East London vibe without trying too hard, and honestly, that’s exactly what I was hoping for in London.
The Space
What really sets this place apart is how it feels more like borrowing a friend’s really nice apartment than checking into a hotel. The room I stayed in had this open, airy layout that made excellent use of the space — you know how London properties can feel cramped, but this one actually breathes. The kitchen setup was surprisingly well-equipped too, which came in handy since I’m one of those travelers who likes to grab groceries and make coffee the way I actually like it.
Location Perks
Here’s the thing about staying in Tower Hamlets — you’re genuinely close to some major venues without paying West End prices. The O2 Arena is practically on your doorstep, and if you’re heading to Excel for an event or conference, you’ll appreciate not having to trek across the city. But what I really loved was discovering the local spots nearby — there’s this great little restaurant just down the road that definitely doesn’t cater to tourists, and the whole area feels like real London rather than the postcard version.
Practical Advantages
The transport links here are actually solid once you figure them out. DLR stations connect you to Canary Wharf and beyond, and getting into central London is more straightforward than I initially thought. Parking isn’t the nightmare it could be either — I mean, this is London, so don’t expect miracles, but it’s manageable if you’re driving. The flat itself stays surprisingly quiet despite being in a fairly busy part of East London, which honestly impressed me.
Why Guests Love It
With an 8.1 rating, this place clearly works for people, and I can see why. It’s that sweet spot between having your own space and getting proper service when you need it. You’re not paying for a concierge you’ll never use or a fancy lobby you’ll walk through twice, but you are getting a genuinely comfortable base that feels like home. If you’re coming to London for the O2, Excel, or just want to experience a less touristy slice of the city, this boutique setup delivers exactly what it promises without any unnecessary fuss.

The property was very comfortable, clean and it had good quality kitchen appliances and accessories. It was very easy to get to the tube and access Greenwich, Stratford and central London.
The hosts were very helpful and it was easy to check in/out. Communication was very good.

"Pleasant experience in a London suburb we assume living amongst every day E3 area"
6-7 minute walk to the tube and we were within city centre within 20 mins on a good day. Shops within decent walking distance
What could be improved: The garden needs to be cleared

"Nice flat but didn’t tick all our boxes"
Nice modern clean flat.
What could be improved: Wasn’t keen on location. Kitchen cupboards were muddled. Cleaning products in with pots and pans. No complimentary toiletries as stated.

"The Appartment is nice, very clean. Entering is uncomplicated. Assistance is available at all times!"
The exacte position, ground floor, the brown door to the right should be indicated. All other indications are clear!

"Fabulous weekend in a lovely cosy apartment, we didn’t want to leave!"
This Apartment is beautifully presented, modern, clean and has absolutely everything you need to have a fabulous break close to the city and many attractions. It is a short walk from the nearest station and a short train ride from Stratford Westfields, the ABBA Voyage venue, Canary Wharf and conveniently placed to go right into the city for the theatre, shopping or whatever!
We were a group of three friends who stayed for two nights, we ate out mostly but the apartment has a well equipped kitchen if you prefer to cook. The bathroom has a lovely shower, good quality bed linen and a very comfortable bed and pull out sofa bed. The hosts are helpful, responsive and we felt that if there had been a problem that they would have rectified it immediately. However we could not fault our stay or the accommodation and would love to go back!
What could be improved: I honestly can’t think of anything negative. It is as advertised.

"Exceptional"
The flat is very clean and everything is new. The staff is very helpful and friendly
What could be improved: If is possible you can make a manual or some instruction of wifi password and some facilities. That would be more clear and efficient

"Superb"
A localização era muito boa, perto do metro. A temperatura dentro de casa era boa e não foi necessário ligar o aquecimento mesmo estando frio no exterior. Zona muito sossegada.
What could be improved: Ter atenção à roupa de cama extra. Apresentava manchas amareladas.

"Exceptional"
Appartement bien équipé, joliment décoré, agréable, propre. Petit jardin. Facilité de contact avec le propriétaire par Wattsapp, réactif. Quartier calme
What could be improved: Les herbes "folles" du jardinet pour lequel un entretien de désherbage/tonte aurait été nécessaire.

"Het was een heel erg ontspannend en boeiend verblijf in London."
Heel modern in een authentiek gebouw in een typische wijk. Zeer schoon en stil gelegen. Korte loopafstanden tot twee verschillende metro-stations.
What could be improved: Niets.
