Contemporary Open Plan in Trendy Notting Hill
First Impressions
Honestly, Contemporary Open Plan in Trendy Notting Hill doesn’t sound like your typical hotel name — and that’s because it isn’t really a traditional hotel at all. This four-star property feels more like staying in a friend’s incredibly stylish apartment, which is exactly what drew me to it. The building itself sits on a quiet residential street in Bayswater (technically just outside Notting Hill proper, but close enough that locals wouldn’t quibble), and you’d walk right past it if you weren’t looking for the discreet entrance.
The Space
Step inside and you’ll immediately understand the “open plan” part of the name. The main living area flows seamlessly from a modern kitchen into the lounge space, with floor-to-ceiling windows that flood everything with natural light. I mean, it’s genuinely impressive how spacious it feels — something that’s pretty rare in London properties. The design leans heavily into that contemporary aesthetic with clean lines and neutral tones, though it never feels cold or sterile like some modern places can.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I really appreciated: you’re about a seven-minute walk from both Bayswater and Royal Oak tube stations, which honestly gives you better transport options than many central hotels. Paddington is just around the corner too, so if you’re catching the Heathrow Express, this spot is actually brilliant. The immediate area has that proper residential London feel — tree-lined streets, Victorian terraces, the occasional corner pub that locals actually frequent rather than just tourists.
The Neighborhood Experience
You know what’s great about this location? You can walk to Hyde Park in about five minutes, and I’m talking about the less crowded northern section where you’ll find more joggers than tour groups. Notting Hill’s famous Portobello Road market is maybe a fifteen-minute stroll, but you’re far enough away that you won’t be dealing with weekend crowds right outside your door. There’s a proper Tesco Express practically next door, plus some decent coffee shops along Westbourne Grove that don’t feel like tourist traps.
Why Guests Love It
This place works particularly well if you’re traveling with someone and want more space than a typical hotel room offers. The full kitchen means you can actually prepare meals (the local markets make this tempting), and the living area gives you somewhere to properly spread out in the evenings. It’s quiet enough that you’ll sleep well, but you’re still close enough to central London that nowhere feels out of reach. The whole setup feels less like accommodation and more like temporary London living — which, after staying in plenty of cramped hotel rooms, was exactly what I needed.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
