Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Central London 3 Bedroom flat, Oxford Circus, W1W on Carburton Street, you’d honestly never guess what you’re about to step into. The building itself looks pretty typical for this part of London — Victorian brick facade that’s seen better days — but that’s sort of the charm of staying in a proper residential area rather than some touristy hotel strip. The entrance is understated, which I actually prefer since it means you’re staying where locals actually live.

Location Magic

Here’s what really sold me on this place — you’re literally a three-minute walk from Oxford Circus tube station, but tucked away on a quiet side street that most tourists never discover. Carburton Street runs parallel to the chaos of Oxford Street, so you get all the benefits without the constant noise of double-decker buses and street performers. I mean, you can pop out for shopping at Selfridges or John Lewis, then retreat back to your own little corner of the city.

The Space

This three-star flat surprised me — it’s got three proper bedrooms, which is honestly rare to find in central London without paying through the nose. The apartment feels lived-in rather than sterile, with mismatched furniture that somehow works together. The kitchen is small but functional (you know, typical London size), though I’d stick to simple meals since counter space is limited. Each room has decent natural light, which is a minor miracle considering how packed together buildings are in Westminster Borough.

Neighborhood Discoveries

What I loved about staying here is stumbling onto the local gems that aren’t in any guidebook. There’s this tiny café called Monocle that’s tucked around the corner — proper coffee and none of the tourist markup you get on Oxford Street. The area has that residential vibe where you’ll see the same dog walker every morning and nod hello to the corner shop owner. It’s Westminster, but it feels like a village within the city, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re trying to get a feel for how Londoners actually live.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t going to win any design awards, and the Wi-Fi can be a bit temperamental (welcome to older London buildings), but there’s something genuinely appealing about having your own space in such a central location. You get three bedrooms for the price of a cramped hotel room in the same area, plus you can spread out and actually unpack your suitcase. The 7.2 rating makes sense — it delivers on location and space without any fancy frills, which is exactly what you want when you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the city anyway.

"Comfortable and affordable"
They were very accommodating with the keys to leave our stuff before official check-in so we didn't have to carry around London. They were fast responding and polite. It was quiet and comfortable, and the utilities were good. However, we didn't use the kitchen, so I can't comment on that. It was a bit outdated, but it didn't affect anything as it had everything we needed. Well worth the money. I'd recommend.

Location, could walk to everything we wanted to see
What could be improved: Pictures are not accurate to condition of residence. It is very old and dated and pics must be from 10 yes ago but it was clean, warm and provided us central london accommodation at an affordable price so it was ok for the cost.

"Great location, value for money large apartment."
Location is excellent, though it is Fitzrovia rather than Oxford Circus I would say. Quiet location but plenty of places to eat nearby, Tottenham Court Road is 5 minute walk away. Rooms are large, the photos are a very good representation of the apartment. Beds and sofas very comfortable, big smart TV. Great value for money.
What could be improved: The kitchen is very tired, the units and worktop are old, not a room we wanted to spend much time in. Not a problem for us, but worth noting that the apartment is on two floors with the kitchen and a toilet on the lower one, the bedrooms. lounge and bathroom on the upper floor.

"Very good"
