First Impressions
You know what? 2BR flat in Greater London with free parking doesn’t sound like much from the name, but this place actually surprised me. It’s tucked away on a quiet residential street in Finchley — one of those London neighborhoods that feels properly local rather than touristy. The building itself is nothing fancy, just a typical North London conversion, but honestly that’s part of its charm.
Location & Getting Around
Finchley isn’t exactly central, I’ll give you that, but it’s got character. You’re in proper London suburbia here — tree-lined streets, local pubs, and that neighborhood feel you don’t get in Zone 1. The parking situation is genuinely brilliant though — finding free parking anywhere in London is like striking gold. West Finchley tube station is walkable, so you can actually get into central London without the hassle of driving and paying congestion charges.
The Space
This is where the place really works — it’s a proper two-bedroom flat, not some cramped hotel room. The kitchen is small but functional, which means you can actually cook if you want to save money on eating out (and let’s face it, London restaurants add up quickly). The living area gives you space to spread out, something you definitely don’t get in most London hotels. The bedrooms are decent sized too — I mean, we’re talking London standards here, but still comfortable enough.
What Works (And What Doesn’t)
Look, this isn’t a polished hotel experience — it’s more like staying at a friend’s place. The furnishing is basic but clean, and everything you need is there. The neighborhood is quiet at night, which is actually refreshing after dealing with London’s constant buzz. What doesn’t work so well is that you’re quite far from the main attractions, so factor in tube time and costs when planning your days out.
Why Guests Choose It
Here’s the thing — if you want to experience London like a local rather than a tourist, this works really well. Families especially seem to love having the extra space and the ability to do their own thing. The free parking alone probably saves you £20-30 per day compared to central London rates. It’s not glamorous, but it’s practical and gives you a proper base to explore the city from.

Excellent location. Next to the northern line.
What could be improved: Contacted booking.com about the washer dryer not getting any water. No one got back to us. A day wasted going to the laundromat

Good location and easy access to tube, buses, and supermarket. Spacious and warm, with views.
What could be improved: Shower didn't drain properly and could have been cleaner.

Modern and clean
What could be improved: Very cold and it’s not possible to modify the temperature, the main room at night time gets freezing. Was raining and windy. We all got little sick in the end of our stay.

What could be improved: It is on the 3rd/4th floor.

Good location, next to tube station and shops. Nice bright and modern apartment. Blitheful view from bedroom. Equipped with all required for long stay.
What could be improved: when outside temperature drops below zero - maximum temperature in bedrooms we were able to maintain 16 degrease C only, even if setting on heater was 21 C.

"Flat smelled of drugs"
The location was as expected.
What could be improved: I am extremely disappointed with our stay at this accommodation. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the property was not as advertised and fell well below an acceptable standard.
The entire apartment smelled strongly of weed, which was both unpleasant and completely inappropriate for a family stay. The property was also unclean, with a dirty baking tray left in the oven and unclean glassware in the cupboards. This immediately gave us concerns over hygiene.
The apartment was located on the top floor, something that was not advertised, and made access with two young children and luggage unnecessarily difficult.
The dishwasher was faulty, tipping forward when opened, which posed a genuine safety hazard, especially with young children around. Basic supplies were also lacking: no spare bin bags, only a small amount of washing-up liquid, and generally minimal essentials provided.
The TV remote had no batteries, the internet connection was poor, and the main door to the building did not lock, creating a clear security risk throughout our stay. On top of this, we were given misleading parking guidance, causing additional inconvenience after a long journey.
When we raised these issues, they disputed everything, rather than acknowledging or addressing the problems. We were also told that we should have complained at the time, but after an eight-hour drive with two young children, dealing with maintenance and safety issues immediately on arrival was simply impractical.
Overall, this accommodation was not as described, not clean, not safe, and not well-managed. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere — this is definitely not a good place to stay.

"Never stay here if they keep that service up I didn't feel valued, they took money and let us suffer"
Local close to station but worst place to stay
What could be improved: Had to miss a day because drop box code given didn't work and had to pay for hotel. Got into flat and hot water was not working for nearly a week. Had to call plumber and didn't feel comfortable in that situation. The front door was open so people could walk in the flat main entrance was worried people might come on. Was staying for. A month and wanted extra duvet cover and pillow cases and didn't offer any. And was some in the property which didn't notify me about. Only had 1 key for main entrance door wanted an extra key but didn't want to help. Kitchen floor was all scratched up and walls were dirty and marks all over flat walls in kitchen, bedrooms. Communication between host was really bad didn't offer any help or assistance. Underfloor heating didn't work. Bedroom had a sofa bed not a real bed and was a 2 bedroom flat. I felt so dirty staying there not being forced to only have 1 duvet and we were staying for a month. Didn't want to accommodate. And have chats as evidence. Tried to charge me extra for trying to clean and look after flat.
