Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Bob W London Tower Hill – Studios, you immediately get the sense that someone actually thought about how people live and travel these days. This isn’t your typical cookie-cutter hotel — it’s more like someone took the best parts of a boutique apartment and hotel experience and smooshed them together in the best possible way.
Location That Actually Makes Sense
Here’s the thing about Tower Hill — you’re basically in the sweet spot between proper London sightseeing and actually feeling like you live in the city. The Tower of London is literally around the corner (I mean, you can see it from some windows), but you’re not stuck in that touristy bubble where everything costs twice as much. The Tube station is maybe a three-minute walk, and honestly, you can walk to Borough Market or pop over to Shoreditch without breaking a sweat.
The Studio Setup
The studios themselves are what sold me on this place. Each one comes with a proper kitchenette — not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation, but actual cooking space with everything you need. The room layout feels thoughtful too, like they actually considered how you’d use the space instead of just cramming in a bed and calling it done. There’s this nice separation between the sleeping area and the living bit, which makes it feel way more spacious than the square footage suggests.
Why It Works for Different Types of Travelers
What I really appreciate about this four-star spot is how it adapts to what you need. Business travelers seem to love the workspace setup and fast WiFi, while couples on weekend breaks make good use of the kitchen for lazy morning coffee sessions. The building has this industrial-chic thing going on that photographs well (if that matters to you), but it’s not trying so hard to be Instagram-perfect that it becomes uncomfortable to actually stay in.
Why Guests Love It
The staff here actually know the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the good curry place on Commercial Road or tell you which pub has the best Sunday roast within walking distance. There’s also parking available, which honestly feels like winning the lottery in this part of London. The 8.9 rating makes sense when you add it all up: decent location, well-designed spaces, and people who seem to care about your experience without being overly fussy about it. It’s the kind of place where you feel settled after the first night rather than constantly adjusting to hotel quirks.

"Convenient access, good location and decent value for money."
What could be improved: I forgot my phone charger when I vacated the room. Despite contacting them on the same day they could not locate it. I know I should have checked better when I left the room, but I just find it strange that somebody would take a well used type C charger and base.

"Super easy stay near to the docks. Great apartment."
Super communication from the host, very easy to access the building and room. They even send you photos of the building and where to input the code so you can't go wrong. Genius! I felt that if we had any issues these would be easy to resolve but we didn't have any. The bed was really comfortable, a full size fridge and everything you needed for a short stay. The place was really clean, easy to find and in a great location for the docks where we were going to an event, about a 15 minute walk away. There are a few coffee shops nearby for your caffeine fix. It's also really good value for London.
What could be improved: Nothing, it was all good.

"Small but funtional and comfy. Definately will check other BOB W locations in the future."
Upon entering the room you think, "thats small". but soon you realize how functional the room is setup. the room had everyting needed for a comfy stay.
What could be improved: although I booked with Breakfast, the location was too far and in the oposite direction I had to go in the morning

"Fantastic location, great price."
Fantastic location, 10 minutes from 3 tube stations. The room was smaller than a hotel room but perfect for a short break and well equipped with everything you would need for a weekend stay. Communication was sent promptly via Whatsapp with a couple of follow up messages checking everything was OK. Access to the property is through a code which is provided the day before and worked well.
The best part for us, which I didn't know when I booked, is that the luggage store is available from the day of arrival (before check in) until the evening of departure which saved us finding a Stasher or similar to put our bags after we'd checked out.
What could be improved: There wasn't much not to like. If I had to be critical, there wasn't any instant coffee in the room.

I always stay here when I come to London for work, it’s such a cosy safe haven, relaxing, spotlessly clean, and a joy to visit.

Super helpful staff, good location, modern vibe
What could be improved: The trains next to it are quite loud, so earplugs are recommended for the night (prepared in the room - very thoughtful!)
