Overview
First Impressions
The Clerkenwell Spacious Flat sits on Lever Street, and honestly, the name doesn’t lie — this place actually delivers on space in a way that’s pretty rare for London. Walking up to the building, you’re in proper Clerkenwell territory, which means you’re surrounded by converted warehouses and that particular mix of creative agencies and old-school pubs that makes this neighborhood feel authentic rather than touristy.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what I love about staying here? You’re genuinely in one of London’s most interesting areas without feeling like you’re in a hotel district. Clerkenwell has this working creative vibe — there’s the Zetter Townhouse just around the corner if you want a proper cocktail, and Smithfield Market is close enough that you’ll hear the early morning hustle if you’re a light sleeper. The tube connections are solid too, with Farringdon and Angel both walkable, which means you can actually get anywhere in London without the usual faff.
The Space
This four-star place really shines when it comes to the actual apartment setup. The room layouts feel like someone actually thought about how people live rather than just sleep — there’s proper seating areas and the kitchen isn’t just a token gesture with a mini-fridge. I mean, you can actually cook here if you want to, which is brilliant when you’re staying longer than a couple nights or just tired of restaurant prices.
What Works Well
The whole experience feels more like borrowing a friend’s flat than staying in typical tourist accommodation. Parking isn’t really the point here — you’re in central London, after all — but everything you need is walkable or a short tube ride away. The space genuinely feels spacious, which in London terms means you’re not bumping into furniture every time you move around. The 8.5 rating makes sense when you consider that this isn’t trying to be flashy; it’s just delivering exactly what it promises.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it lets you live like a local rather than just visit like a tourist. You’ve got Exmouth Market for weekend browsing, proper gastropubs within walking distance, and you’re positioned perfectly for exploring both the City and the West End without feeling stuck in either. It’s the kind of place where you can spread out your stuff, make morning coffee without queuing, and actually feel settled rather than just passing through London.
Locals suggest to book apartments in London around South Bank for riverside dining, market stops, and easy city crossings.

"Host very quick to communicate and try to resolve issues. I will come back once the sofa is fixed 👍🏼"
It was a lovely spacious clean flat.

"Comfortable stay at the top of a bunch of stairs"
While there were a few things I didn’t like about the property, listed below, I really enjoyed my stay. I was in this flat for two months and found it to be large enough to comfortably live in. A very nice balcony to relax on. A kitchen large enough for me to cook in on a regular basis, an excellent central London location all combined to make this a very nice booking.
What could be improved: The property is at the top of 3 flights of narrow, windy, and steep stairs. 2 flights outside the flat and one just inside the flat entrance. I got used to them, but they were a surprise.
Two large windows had no coverings, leading to a troubling privacy gap.
Finally, taking out the rubbish is awkward. The bins are only available Wednesday afternoons and Thursday mornings.

"Perfect stay in a stylish flat!"
The flat was exactly as pictured—clean, modern, and spacious. Great natural light, comfy furniture, and the location was perfect for exploring London. Check-in was smooth and everything was well-prepared for a short but sweet stay.
What could be improved: Honestly, nothing to complain about. Everything met or exceeded expectations.

"Reasonable location & good apartment size, but this is NOT a quiet place to stay!"
The location is reasonably good for getting around London, especially if you don't mind walking.
The apartment is a good size for the location in London.
What could be improved: The location on the ad is not where the apartment is, but it is nearby!
The actual apartment is located between 2 "rat runs" that are busy 24 hours a day and are very noisy.
The apartment is also located close to a busy London road with a lot of street & siren noise 24 hours per day, every day!
The apartment becomes a sweat box if the temperature approaches 30 degrees for more than one day, even with the windows open for some air movement.

"Falta mantenimiento"
Era espacioso
What could be improved: Los colchones eran viejos, el sofá estaba roto y las sillas sucias, cuando llegamos no estaba hecha una de las habitaciones y faltaba menaje
