Whitfield Apartments sits on a quiet street in Fitzrovia that honestly feels more residential than touristy — which is exactly why I liked it. You’re getting proper apartment living rather than the typical hotel experience, and there’s something refreshing about having your own space in this part of London. The building itself has that understated British charm without trying too hard to impress.
The Space
What strikes you immediately is how much room you actually get. These aren’t cramped London accommodations — each unit feels like a real flat where you could actually live for a while. The kitchen comes fully equipped, which means you can skip overpriced hotel breakfast if you want and just pop to the Tesco around the corner. I mean, the beds are comfortable enough, but it’s really about having that extra space to spread out after long days of sightseeing.
Location and Neighborhood
Fitzrovia is one of those areas that locals know but tourists often miss — and that works in your favor. You’re a five-minute walk from Oxford Street when you need the big shopping, but Scala Street itself is peaceful enough that you’ll actually sleep well. The Charlotte Street area is right there with some genuinely good places to eat, not just tourist traps. Plus, you know what? Goodge Street tube station is closer than you’d think from looking at the map.
Daily Life
Having stayed at this four-star place twice now, I appreciate how it just works for different types of trips. Business travelers seem to love the reliable WiFi and quiet atmosphere, while families actually have space for everyone to coexist without going mad. There’s no fancy restaurant on-site, but honestly, with Borough Market and Fitzrovia’s food scene so close, you don’t really need one. The staff are helpful without being overly chatty — very British, really.

Look, Whitfield Apartments isn’t trying to be the flashiest hotel in London, and that’s precisely its appeal. You get dependable comfort, actual living space, and a location that puts you in the middle of everything without the chaos of staying right on Oxford Street. The 8.4 rating makes sense — it’s the kind of place that does what it promises well, with parking available if you’re brave enough to drive in central London. For the price point in this area, it’s honestly hard to find better value when you factor in the space and the neighborhood.

"Spacious, clean, comfortable, and close to everything!"
Fantastic location, around the corner from a coffee shop, Marks & Spencer, and the Tube station. Just off a Tottenham, so right near a great selection of restaurants and shopping. Easy walk to the British Museum and other attractions. Very spacious accommodations for downtown London, and very clean.
What could be improved: Check in was supposed to be at 3pm, but the cleaning staff wasn't finished until after 4:30p. We were able to drop off our luggage so it wasn't a big deal. A lot of sound from the downstairs neighbors carried up, but that's to be expected in an apartment. Would definitely stay here again.

I had a great stay at the Whitfield apartment! The location is excellent — central and close to everything I needed. The place was very clean, well-kept, and comfortable.
A big thank you to Thomas for being such a helpful and kind host. He even helped with my luggage, which I really appreciated. Highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again!
