Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Welcome London Theatreland on Shaftesbury Avenue, you immediately get why they chose this name — you’re literally surrounded by red-lit marquees and theater crowds. The building itself has that classic London brick facade that blends right into the Theatreland streetscape, though honestly, I almost walked past it the first time because it sits so naturally among the historic buildings here.
Location That Actually Matters
This four-star spot sits right in the heart of Westminster Borough, which means you’re about a two-minute walk from half the West End shows you’ve probably heard of. I mean, the Shaftesbury Theatre is practically next door, and you can see the Apollo Theatre from some of the windows. What I really appreciated though was how easy it was to grab the Tube — Tottenham Court Road station is just around the corner, so getting anywhere in London becomes pretty straightforward.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but smartly designed — and I say that as someone who’s dealt with plenty of London hotel rooms that feel like closets. The bed was actually comfortable (you know how hit-or-miss that can be), and they’d managed to squeeze in a decent workspace by the window. The bathroom was modern and clean, though you’re definitely not getting a soaking tub here — it’s all about efficiency over indulgence.
Dining and Practicalities
There’s an on-site restaurant that serves solid British fare with some international options, though honestly, with Chinatown literally across the street and Covent Garden five minutes away, you’ve got incredible food options everywhere you turn. The staff was genuinely helpful — not just polite, but actually knowledgeable about show times and parking alternatives (spoiler: don’t drive here, just don’t).
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is the timing factor — you can literally finish dinner, walk back to freshen up, then stroll to your theater seat in under ten minutes. I watched other guests doing exactly this, some still buzzing with excitement about matinee shows they’d just caught. The 8.7 rating makes sense when you consider that most people aren’t just getting a bed for the night — they’re getting front-row access to one of the world’s best theater districts without the hassle of long commutes or expensive cab rides back to their hotel.
Exploring London blends royal heritage, UNESCO landmarks, and vibrant neighborhoods glowing with golden-hour light.

All was good
What could be improved: The only bad side is the noise from the street at night...

"Very good stay in a great location"
The apartment is great, very clean, tidy and has everything you need. The building is very secure with a camera on the outside door. The host was great and the instructions were very clear for checking in, checking out and other instructions. The area is lively and close to tourist attractions and shopping.
What could be improved: Despite the apartment's excellent location, the noise of motorcycles, people, and police cars at night was disturbing. This is normal according to the apartment's location, and can be mitigated by keeping the windows tightly closed if the weather is cold. No air conditioning wasn't a problem for me; the weather was beautiful and the temperature was excellent, especially at night. However, this may not be suitable for some, especially with the rising temperatures. The elevator is small, but the location and excellent services make up for this shortcoming.

"A perfect location to travel with kids, very clean and with all the necessary comforts."
Great location, very clean and spacious enough for a family with 2 kids. We also appreciated the regular check ins of the apartment managers.

"Wonderful, clean and bright oasis that is walkable to all the fun!"
Wonderful central location, easy access to underground and main attractions. Although in the middle of everything - it was still very quiet. Unless an ambulance was going through , you couldn’t hear the massive amounts of ppl in the streets.
What could be improved: Honestly it was a great property, well appointed. But if I had to be honest the mattress needs to be replaced.

"Exceptional"
Location is superb and you can cover a lot of central London sights on foot. Flat is at a junction so there is a little street noise, mainly fire engines and ambulances. They asked if we wanted to the sofa bed to be opened into a bed for arrival - which i thought was really thoughtful. We did ask for it to be opened and found it was done. There is no in-person interaction as everything in via the app. But that made no difference as we had detailed instructions and prompt replies to requests during the trip. Flat is clean and kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans. Don't expect cooking supplies although there were some sachets of salt, pepper and oil. Bathroom is a good size (by London standards). There is a lift which is also not always there in such central properties. Highly recommend this place and would certainly stay again 😀

"Great location, great hosts, few hiccups but worth it :)"
We liked the location alot, it was great for a group of friends looking for a place that is close to everything. really, half of our plans were few minutes walk, or an easy walk to the station.
The apartment was very inviting, spaced and had everything we needed. it was lovely.
And we were happy with the interaction with the hosts :) answered quickly when we needed replies, and it felt like they are taking care of us even from far away
as 6 people, the apartment still felt spacious, and the price felt affordable for this amount of people and the value that we got.
What could be improved: It was unfortunate that the elevator broke. it was indeed tiring to go up and down those 5 floors few times a day. and few of my friends had to go with all their luggage at the last night all 5 floors which isnt easy or comfortable.
( for those who stayed in the morning the hosts aranged someone to take our baggage downstairs 😊)
Like we mentioned, some of the faucets at the apartment were clanky. or harsh.
and one of the main shower "controls" wasnt really connected and just fell on first use.
Wasnt too bad, but was a bit saddening to get to a very nice apartment and having trouble opening the water 🙂 The hosts did suggest nicely and happily to get someone to fix it but we declined for the duration of our stay.
The only possible con of the centricity of the location is that there are alot of... ambulances. sometimes like 2-3 during the night. who knew the amublances in the UK were this noisy!!😂 We did manage with it but maybe we are easy sleepers.

"Perfect apartment in the great location"
The Apartment is clean and comfortable for 4 adult, not to mention the location is super, because it is in central. So many option for dining, not to worry at all.
Also it is very close to the Palace Theater, not to worry to let my daughter see the Harry Potter and the cursed child alone because she can go back to the apartment in a minute.
We have a good experience staying in this apartement as a first timer coming to London.
What could be improved: The lift is out of service when we stay there so it is a kind of strength traning when we arrive and leave the apartment carrying big luggage up and down😀
