Overview
First Impressions
Stepping into The Norfolk feels like discovering one of those classic London hotels that’s been quietly doing its thing for decades. The Georgian facade on Norfolk Square immediately caught my eye — it’s got that proper Victorian charm without feeling stuffy or overdone. You know what struck me most? The lobby has this warm, lived-in quality that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into someone’s well-appointed townhouse rather than another generic hotel.
Location & Neighborhood
Honestly, the location is pretty brilliant if you ask me. Norfolk Square sits in this lovely pocket of Westminster that feels residential but puts you within walking distance of Hyde Park — I mean, you’re literally two minutes from the northeast corner. Paddington Station is right there too, which makes airport transfers dead simple. The area around here has that authentic London neighborhood vibe, with proper pubs and local cafes mixed in with the tourist spots.
The Room Experience
My room had that classic English hotel character — high ceilings, period features, but updated where it counts. The bathroom was surprisingly modern, and the bed was genuinely comfortable (sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don’t with older London hotels, but this one delivered). What I appreciated was the attention to small details — decent lighting for reading, enough outlets that actually work, and windows that open properly for fresh air.
Amenities & Dining
The restaurant downstairs serves solid English fare without trying to be too fancy about it. Breakfast was actually quite good — proper full English if you want it, but continental options that don’t feel like an afterthought. There’s a cozy bar area that locals seem to use too, which always tells you something positive about a place. The staff genuinely knows the area well, so don’t hesitate to ask for recommendations.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t a flashy four-star property trying to impress everyone who walks through the door. It’s more about getting the fundamentals right — clean, comfortable rooms in a building with real character, a location that works for both business and leisure travelers, and service that feels personal rather than corporate. The price point makes sense for what you get, and there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels authentically London rather than like it could be anywhere in the world.

"Good"
Staff were happy to provide me with as many tea and milk refills as I wanted. Room was small, but warm, cozy and clean.
What could be improved: Could have done with a full length mirror and maybe a couple of shelves in the bathroom to store toiletries, wash bag etc.

"Will be back :)"
TV - Having all the accounts already signed in, having Netflix, Disney etc
Bathroom - hot, powerful shower, large shower too
Location - the location was exceptional, being a 2-3 minute walk from Paddington station, beautiful garden just outside the hotel, located near pubs, a few cafes, supermarkets and off licences, excellent breakfast spots around there was definitely a highlight of my trip
Staff - very helpful, we asked for a 1pm checkout and they accommodated well to our request, very polite, fresh towels on the 2nd day
What could be improved: Stairs very narrow and with suitcases was difficult, bed was a small double but it did fit 2 people fairly well, bathroom storage was a bit of an issue as there was nowhere to put items.

"Worthy stay, clean, cozy."
It was perfect for a solo traveler and the price for the location is great too! Close to public transport connections, safe environment, lots of restaurants near by. Aesthetically pleasing room with a nice view.
What could be improved: The space is a bit small, no elevator.

"Great location for train services to Heathrow and the underground"
Location was fantastic, close to Paddington Station and a range of eateries. Room was small but perfectly adequate. Shame about the view (back wall of a building) but this helped make the room super quiet
What could be improved: Nothing

"Great place if just for a bed but if you aren’t planning on leaving your hotel much this isn’t for you."
The location was brilliant, clean and comfortable. Right by Paddington station.
What could be improved: Lots of stairs and no lift. Not really any facilities. Just a reception and rooms with bathrooms
No bar. Quite loud. House keeping banging around at 930am outside our door

"Good"
Good location and very good reception staff
What could be improved: The cleaning staff walked in on me without knocking even when i had a do not disturb sign on. The walls are also thin so if you get loud neighbours they will wake you up, but that’s to be expected in these types of buildings so you can’t really avoid that.

"Good for 1 night business trip."
Bedroom clean and comfortable, staff were lovely.
What could be improved: Steep stairs, but I was aware of that before booking and the staff will carry your bags

"Convenient location to Paddington station."
Pleasant little room, clean and presentable. The park across the road in lovely and very picturesque.
What could be improved: The multiple steps to get to the forth floor. We were given a choice however a warning about the forth floor climb to the summit would have been nice.
