room2 London Hammersmith Townhouse caught me off guard in the best way possible. I mean, you walk up to what looks like a typical Victorian terrace building on Hammersmith Grove, and then — boom — the interior hits you with this sleek, modern design that somehow doesn’t clash with the historic bones of the place. It’s this four-star boutique property that feels way more intimate than your average London hotel, honestly.
The Space That Works
Here’s what I loved about my room — it wasn’t huge, but every square inch was thoughtfully designed. The floor-to-ceiling windows let in tons of natural light, and there’s this clever little workspace that actually works if you need to get things done. The beds are proper comfortable, not just Instagram-pretty, and the rainfall shower is one of those small luxuries that makes a difference after a long day of walking around the city.
Location Reality Check
Hammersmith isn’t exactly central London, but you know what? That’s actually part of its charm. You’re on the Piccadilly line, so getting into the heart of things takes about 20 minutes, but you get to stay in a neighborhood that feels more like where actual Londoners live. There’s a decent pub literally next door, and the Hammersmith Apollo is just a short walk if you’re into live music.
Food and Practical Bits
The ground floor restaurant serves solid modern British food — nothing groundbreaking, but well-executed and reasonably priced for a hotel. What I really appreciated was the grab-and-go breakfast option since I’m usually rushing out to catch the tube. There’s also parking available, which is genuinely rare and useful in this part of London if you’re driving.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it doesn’t try too hard to be something it’s not. The staff seem to actually care about making your stay smooth rather than just going through the motions. It’s modern without being sterile, comfortable without being boring, and positioned well enough that you feel connected to London without paying West End prices. Plus, that whole townhouse vibe means you’re not lost in some massive hotel complex — it feels more personal, if that makes sense.

"A good hotel"
This hotel is beautiful and located very close to Hammersmith Station. The check-in process was very smooth. Since I was arriving around 8:30 PM and their office closes at 8:00 PM, they actually called me beforehand to help me complete the check-in online.
What could be improved: My score would be a perfect 10 if they provided bottled water. Unfortunately, water isn't included. Nevertheless, our stay was great!

Staff were brilliant reacting to all the issues that occured professionally and promptly
What could be improved: Ceiling leaked with water pouring through and my shower didn't work...changed my room with no issues to a luxury apartment...happy with response to unfortunate situation

"Overall very happy with my stay with Room2"
The room was large and as per my expectations. Perfect location and space during October. The Fall weather was so pretty on the Hammersmith Grove Street. A lot of options to explore nearby, highly recommend the area.
What could be improved: It was a bit disorganised as I was placed in the wrong room for the first 2 nights even though i mentioned i need to have the room as per the picture. It was sorted out in the end very kindly so it is okay.
Main negative is the lack of sheets being refreshed especially for a long stay i could only refresh my sheets once. However towels are provided consistantly which is nice.

It is a great hotel, we keep coming back
What could be improved: We stayed during a heatwave and it is impossible to be or have a good sleep in the room. We recommend upgrading and providing enough ventilators or installing portable AC units

Fantastic location! Very comfortable and clean. Very much appreciated the keyless entry, too.
What could be improved: It was difficult to maintain a comfortable temperature? Might have been my lack of knowledge, but I found it too warm even with the heat turned off.

"I'd stay here again, if you want kitchen/laundry facilities then it is worth the extra money"
Location easy walk to 4 different underground lines (Shepherd's Bush, Hammersmith, Goldhawk). We chose a large studio it wasn't super large but quite okay. Having access to washing machines was unexpected and a great bonus.
What could be improved: There were a few minor things, including a toilet seat that needed fixing, but the staff responded promptly and attended to these things in a timely manner. I suspect if the previous occupant had let them know of these problems, they would have been repaired/addressed before we arrived.

"Great unmanned hotel near Hammersmith"
Great location and really easy to access. I don’t mind these properties that aren’t manned, but didn’t have a problem to test the customer service, so cannot comment!
What could be improved: Room needed some upgrading to the kitchen area and the fridge was a little broken. Everything else was great!

"Cozy atmosphere, and great ambience in the room with the kitchenette. Everything had its own space."
The atmosphere of the place, the fact that water was free to take and the calmness of the room. It was all just great. It quickly made us feel at home. However, it can be extremely suffocating and hot in summer even with the tower fan. Nonetheless, we got a nice view from our window.
What could be improved: I had completely forgotten that i had to go to another place nearby to get my keycodes when checking in and was not completely clear on how to check out as well. So, the check in and check out was not so straightforward.
