Recently redecorated bright and spacious 1BR flat in West London caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know how apartment rentals can be hit or miss? Well, this four-star place actually delivers on its promise — the space genuinely feels fresh and thoughtfully updated. The moment you step inside, there’s this sense of calm that’s hard to find in London, especially at this price point.
Location & Getting Around
Goldhawk Road might not sound glamorous, but honestly, it’s one of those addresses that locals appreciate more than tourists realize. You’re in Hammersmith and Fulham, which means you get that West London vibe without the chaos of central zones. The Goldhawk Road tube station is practically on your doorstep — I mean, you can literally walk there in under three minutes. What I love about this area is how it feels residential but still connected; you can be in Notting Hill in about ten minutes or reach central London without the hassle of multiple transfers.
The Space Itself
The apartment lives up to its “bright and spacious” billing, which is refreshing because so many London rentals oversell themselves. The bedroom actually fits a proper bed plus space to move around — not always a given in this city. The kitchen is where the recent renovation really shows; it’s equipped well enough that you could actually cook instead of just reheating takeaway. The living area has this nice flow that makes the whole place feel bigger than it probably is on paper.
What Makes It Work
There’s something about staying in a residential area that gives you a different perspective on London life. You’ll find yourself popping into local shops along Goldhawk Road, maybe grabbing coffee from places that don’t have tourist markups. The room gets genuine natural light throughout the day — and if you’ve spent time in London apartments, you know that’s not guaranteed. The whole setup feels like you’re borrowing a friend’s place rather than staying in some sterile rental.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.5 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — just a well-maintained, comfortable space in a part of London that feels authentic. The combination of being genuinely updated (not just cleaned and called “renovated”) plus having easy transport links creates this sweet spot where you feel settled but not isolated. For the money, especially considering you get a full apartment in Zone 2, it’s honestly hard to beat.

"Lovely spacious flat in convenient location. We will return!"
This was so spacious!!!!!! A lovely comfortable bed, great little kitchen area, lovely living area with a vaulted ceiling. The host was wonderful and accommodating, allowing us to drop our bags in the room while the cleaners were there 4 hours before official checkin time. We were close to a bus stop and the main tube lines (Circle and Hammersmith) that get you to most London attractions. This was our third booking.com stay in London at a similar price point, and it was far far far away the best in every respect.
What could be improved: There were two sets of stairs to get to the property, so it is exhausting to get there with suitcases.......but very worth it especially for longer stays. We were there at the end of the heat wave, and there is no air conditioning...I believe they plan to renovate and put in air con this year. However, we were able to get a good draft going with the windows that it was quite fine even without air con.

What could be improved: All communications with the owner/manager were unsigned so this made the interactions anonymous.

"A very spacious clean well maintained and well equipped property at a very reasonable price."
The place was very spacious taking up the entire top floor of the building. Main room was large enough for 2 sofas, a coffee table and a full size dining room table and kitchen. Having so much space was wonderful and very unusual for the London area. The WIFI worked well and was very fast.
What could be improved: Being on the top floor it is quite warm. Air conditioning or better ventilation would have made a big difference. The knobs in the bathtub were smooth stainless steel cylinders so when your hands were soapy the knobs were impossible to turn. The dryer did not work or worked poorly. I suspect the dryer is not vented properly.

"Cosy comfly flat"
It is a flat you instantly feel at home in, there is everything you need, you can adjust the temperature, you can create dark, you can cook if you want, the beds are comfortable. We really felt at home for our stay!

"Geschmackvolles, geräumiges, gemütliches Apartement in bester Lage!"
Ein fantastisches Apartment mit überkompletter Ausstattung: Vom Bügelbrett, Wäscheständer bis zur Taschenlampe war alles vorhanden. Geschmackvolle Möblierung, angenehmes Licht, bequemes Bett. Perfekte Küche.

"Excelente!"
El lugar es muy cómodo y amplió, estaba perfectamente limpio y además contaba con las cosas básicas como shampoo, acondicionador y papel higiénico. Pero también tenía otros como lavadoras, papel secante, te, entre otros, lo que se agradece bastante. El apartamento es muy lindo está en perfecto estado y muy bien ubicado y conectado con otras estaciones. Los dueños siempre muy atentos y respondiendo muy rápidamente. Excelente, volvería feliz

"Pohodlný, priestranný, čistý a dobre vybavený byt s výhodnou polohou"
Vstup do ubytovania bol bezproblémový. Majiteľ pošle pred príchodom do správy všetky potrebné informácie. Komunikácia s majiteľom bola výborná, na otázky odpovedá obratom. Byt sa nachádza v dome na prvom poschodí. Byt bol pohodlný, pekne zariadený, čistý, s priestrannou obývačkou s dvoma pohovkami, veľkým jedálenským stolom, veľmi dobre vybavenou kuchynskou linkou, priestrannou spálňou s dvoma veľkými skriňami. Kúpeľňa bola čistá, moderná. Vedľa ubytovania sú dve reštaurácie, tá srbská je výborná, odporúčam. V okolí sú obchody s potravinami, reštaurácie a kaviarne. Nakoľko sa ubytovanie nachádza na hlavnej ceste, výhodou je aj blízkosť verejnej dopravy, asi 2 minúty chôdze je autobusová zastávka a asi 7 minút chôdze je stanica metra, ktorým sa ľahko dostanete do centra Londýna. Dobré miesto na pobyt, ak si chcete spraviť prehliadku Londýna.

"Fantastisch appartement met veel ruimte"
Werkelijk een fantastisch appartement, van alle gemakken voorzien, bijzonder ruim. Alles is exact zo als op de getoonde foto’s. Prachtige slaapkamer, heerlijk bed en fijne hoofdkussens. Mooie luxe badkamer, douchen in het bad.
Volledig uitgeruste keuken. Een absolute aanrader in een heel fijne buurt!
What could be improved: Als ik dan toch iets moet zeggen miste ik een paar haakjes op de badkamer en keuken handdoek en theedoek.
