Overview
First Impressions
Central London’s Cosy Gem sits on a quiet residential street in Bayswater, and honestly, I almost walked past it the first time. The Victorian townhouse blends seamlessly with the neighborhood’s cream-colored facades, which is actually part of its charm. You know what strikes me most? It’s how the four-star property manages to feel like a local secret despite being steps from Hyde Park.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Moscow Road is one of those streets tourists rarely discover on their own — mostly residential, lined with proper London mansion blocks and the occasional corner shop. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Paddington Station (perfect for Heathrow connections), but it feels worlds away from the tourist chaos. The Lancaster Gate tube entrance is right around the corner, and Hyde Park’s Italian Gardens are closer than most locals realize.
The Room Experience
The rooms are what you’d expect from a converted Victorian house — some quirky angles, varying sizes, but genuinely cozy in that British way. My room had this lovely bay window overlooking the street, and the heating actually worked properly (not always a given in older London buildings). The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, and they’ve clearly invested in decent water pressure, which honestly makes all the difference after a long day of sightseeing.
Practical Details
There’s no on-site restaurant, but that’s actually fine because you’re surrounded by proper local spots. The Lebanese place two doors down does incredible takeaway, and there’s a traditional pub called The Duke of Kendal just around the corner that serves decent food until late. The staff genuinely knows the area — they’ll point you toward the good stuff, not just the obvious tourist traps.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Central London’s Cosy Gem isn’t trying to be the Savoy, and that’s exactly why it works. You get a proper London neighborhood experience without paying Mayfair prices, plus you can actually walk to Oxford Street in about fifteen minutes if you need your shopping fix. The 7.4 rating feels about right — it’s solid, comfortable, and refreshingly unpretentious in a city full of hotels trying too hard to impress.

"Very good"
Pro-active communication of hosts, whole equipt apartment (including charges), quite location, ideal for children.
What could be improved: Entrance (main door, stairs) - cleanliness, apartment - bathroom and windows cleanliness

"Good, but not great"
It's a pleasant place with a good location being near the Hide Park, good restaurants and cafes. It's also located in a great neighborhood full of beautiful places.
What could be improved: The apartment was not in good condition. The bathroom cabinet had rotted wood because the water from the shower was leaking through the acrylic protection and running down the furniture. There was a light that wouldn't turn on. The paint on the doors was peeling. The bookshelf in the living room was dusty. There were small things that didn't match the daily rate charged and that made the stay frustrating.

"Easy, comfortable, cosy flat for a family of 4"
Great communication, excellent location, comfortable place to stay for my family, brilliant value for money.
What could be improved: Sofa bed could do with an upgrade if I'm being very critical

"Great value, nice neighborhood"
Easy communication, easy to find, getting in- lock box with 2 keys to enter. Nice quiet neighborhood, close to shops and restaurants, equipt with the essentials, one of the rare flats with 2 actual beds and not one bed and one couch.
What could be improved: The flat is on the first floor so you need to go up two flights of narrow stairs to get to the flat. The shower head is loose, works fine but won't hold up by itself. You need to hold it by hand to shower. There is a laundry washer but i didn't see a dryer. TV is old and no streaming apps.

"nice location. the flat could be great if some more TLC"
the location was the best aspect of the property
What could be improved: the state of the communal areas was shockingly bad.
The flat is clean but lacks TLC. curtains torn, handles loose etc.

"Exceptional"
Great place to stay near the centre of London. Small, clean and really cosy flat in a quiet area. In a walking distance of the public transport.
What could be improved: Not much space to put our belongings there but for our stay it was OK. We were group of five people.

"Unpleasant"
The location
What could be improved: We were disappointed with our stay, we arrived at London at approx 1pm and were not able to check in untill 3pm as the cleaner hadn’t been, which is the standard check in time although when we checked in at night the property was not clean, there was food left in the fridge. Rips in the net curtains, hair on the bed sheets, toilet seat was to small for the toilet, the taps came off when you put the shower on, stained bed quilt.

"我们四个人住,床刚刚够大,放行李的空间不太够"
这套房子提供了很好的厨房和餐厅,厨房电器非常好用,热水也足够
What could be improved: 卧室里没有空调,虽然天气不热但是窗户关上还是觉得有点闷,打开窗户又担心安全问题

"Così così"
L'appartamento era comodo e dotato di tutto il necessario.
What could be improved: C'era molta polvere sulle finestre (che non potevano essere aperte) e sugli areatori. Anche l'ingresso del palazzo era molto sporco e tenuto male.
