Overview
First Impressions
When I first spotted Private Garden Apartment by Tulse Hill Station – Pass the Keys, honestly, the name tells you everything you need to know. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Tulse Hill station, which means you can be in central London in about 20 minutes without the eye-watering accommodation prices. The building itself is one of those solid Victorian conversions that South London does so well — nothing flashy, but you know it’s been done properly.
The Space
This four-star apartment actually feels like someone’s home rather than a sterile hotel room. The private garden bit isn’t just marketing speak either — there’s genuinely a lovely outdoor space where you can have your morning coffee without feeling like you’re in a goldfish bowl. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which I mean, if you’re staying for more than a couple of nights, you’ll appreciate not having to eat out for every single meal in London.
Location Perks
Lambeth gets overlooked by most tourists, but that’s honestly part of its charm. You’ve got Brockwell Park just down the road — proper local knowledge here — which is where South Londoners go to escape the madness, especially on weekends. The high street has everything you actually need: a decent Tesco, some solid pubs, and that Turkish place that does incredible food until late. You know what’s brilliant? You can walk to Brixton in about fifteen minutes when you want some buzz, but retreat back to this quieter pocket when you’ve had enough.
Getting Around
The transport links are genuinely excellent, though I’d avoid rush hour if possible — but that’s London for you. Tulse Hill station connects you to both Victoria and London Bridge, so you’re sorted whether you want to hit the West End or explore the South Bank. There’s decent bus connections too, and parking isn’t the nightmare it is in Zone 1 if you’re mad enough to drive in London.
Why Guests Love It
With an 8.1 rating, this place clearly gets something right, and I think it’s the balance. You’re getting proper space and privacy — something that’s increasingly rare in London accommodation — without paying Kensington prices. The Pass the Keys management means check-in is smooth, and when something needs sorting, it actually gets sorted. It’s not trying to be the Ritz, but for travelers who want to live like a local rather than feel like a tourist, this setup just works.

"Superb"
Although this is a basement property, there was plenty of natural light. It was simply furnished and great for what we wanted
in terms of location and amenities.

"excellent"
really comfortable and easy to find some shops nearby.
What could be improved: neighbors are bit noisy during the day, but it’s ok

"Good location."
The property is in a quiet street and the location to the train station as well as the bus is convenient.
What could be improved: The shower temperature fluctuates
The noise from the above flat

"Cosy, clean, fully equipped"
It's the second time I stay at the apartment and I still find it super cosy, quiet and homy. What I really appreciate is that it really has everything you need. I will be back a third time!
What could be improved: Okay if you really want me to complain, I think it would be nice if you put a little fleece blanket near the couch so we can snuggle up while watching TV. It's the only thing missing 😁

"SPIDER INFESTED, but otherwise pretty good"
- Easy walk to groceries and public transit
- Full kitchen w/ everything you need
- Spacious and decent value
What could be improved: OH GOD THE SPIDERS! This place was INFESTED with giant spiders. I don’t mean “I saw a tiny piece of dust sized spider a few times.” I don’t mean “I saw a couple scary spiders in the corner”. I mean DOZENS of spiders. I mean finding half a dozen more every day I was there. You sit on the toilet? Spider crawling towards your foot. You sit on the couch? Surprise, a spider is next to your hand. You go to bed? Good morning, giant spider is 1ft away. You pack your bags to leave? Oh good, spider hiding in your clothes too.
It was a literal nightmare for someone with arachnophobia.
Aside from that my only other complaints was the internet lost connection every hour or two and the shower water was only warm not hot - but both of those are negligible.

"Give this property a miss"
It's location to tube station
What could be improved: We did not like it being a damp basement flat that was cheaply furnished and decorated.
Damp marks on the walls paint off the walls from chairs
Only one sheet and no quilt cover for extra bed even though we booked for 4 people
Dirty stained matress cover which we only discovered last day when we stripped the bed
Also being conned into purchasing a damage waver insurance policy or having to pay £500 deposit on card with £10 admin fee
And finally noisy neighbours

What could be improved: Wir waren 3 Personen, leider war das Schlafsofa nicht vorbereitet.
