Overview
First Impressions
Park Hotel sits on a busy stretch of Cranbrook Road in Ilford, and honestly, it’s not going to win any beauty contests from the outside. This two-star property has that straightforward, no-nonsense look you’d expect from a budget hotel in East London. But you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need — a clean place to sleep without the fuss or the hefty price tag.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was small but functional, with everything you’d actually use and nothing you wouldn’t. The bed was surprisingly comfortable for this price range, and the ensuite bathroom, while compact, had decent water pressure in the shower. There’s a small TV and basic furnishings — think IKEA meets budget travel, which works perfectly fine for a night or two.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s where the Park Hotel actually shines — you’re well-connected to central London without paying Zone 1 prices. Ilford station is about a 10-minute walk away, and from there you can reach Liverpool Street in roughly 20 minutes on the Elizabeth line. The area itself is pretty multicultural, with some excellent curry houses and Middle Eastern shops nearby if you want authentic food that won’t break the bank.
Practical Considerations
The staff are friendly enough, though don’t expect round-the-clock concierge service at this level. Check-in was quick and straightforward when I arrived. There’s limited parking available, which is actually quite useful since street parking around here can be a nightmare during the day. The WiFi worked fine in my experience, though it’s not going to handle any heavy streaming.
Why Guests Choose It
Look, this isn’t a place you’d book for a romantic getaway or special celebration. But if you need somewhere clean and affordable while exploring London, or you’re catching an early flight from nearby airports, it does the job well. I mean, you’re paying budget hotel prices and getting exactly that — no surprises, no disappointments, just somewhere decent to rest your head. For travelers who plan to spend most of their time out exploring rather than lounging in their hotel, the Park Hotel makes a lot of practical sense.

"Competitive price for cosy but noisy"
Quiet road, spacious room, en-suite
What could be improved: The main door slammed every time people got in&out of property. People coming back through the night very late noisy, others leaving very early noisy.
So woke up many times, didn't sleep well at all.
No little side light in bedroom, only bright ceiling light

"Their staff need more training."
Location is great.
What could be improved: The attitude of some of the staff is very bad , and they no longer give breakfast like other hotels.

"Passable"
Walkable from Ilford station. Stayed in the actually hotel and place advertised which was good. So many of the East London “stays” are agency and you get shuffled and hassled. This was a hotel which actually exists which is at least a step forward.
What could be improved: The London requirement for a variable deposit up front irritates me and is pretty much never mentioned on the booking.com site. Feels a little more like a security pen with 2 guards 24/7. Served purpose but will look for alternatives next time.

"Very average hotel at so called cheaper rate in fare location for heading to central London"
Well, I found the room clean and okay to stay in. I was there for 4 nights. Ilford center is very near to take any Train, especially the Elizabeth line to central London. Additionally, a bus stop is located just in front of the Hotel, called Valentine's Park, which provides access to Ilford Center or Gants Hill, as needed for the visit. Compared to other hotels nearby, the overall rate is quite cheaper, with no additional benefits like drinking water, but shampoo and tea materials provided in the room.
What could be improved: I have been allocated to a very small double room with insufficient space. I experienced a significant internet connection issue for two days. I complained about it at the reception, and they replied that they had informed the office, but it wasn't fixed the next day. I raised the same issue the next day. From the reception, they changed my room to A block, where the internet was usable, but the speed was still very poor. To be honest, the value for money is not justified. I would like to mention the staff's behavior - not all of them, but I found it gentle when addressing general queries from half of the staff.
