Overview
First Impressions
Newly refurbished double room Camden Town is exactly what it says on the tin — a freshly done-up room in one of London’s most vibrant neighborhoods. I’ll be honest, this isn’t your typical hotel setup; it’s more like staying in someone’s nicely renovated home on Fortess Road. The refurbishment is genuinely recent, and you can tell — everything feels crisp and clean without that slightly tired edge you sometimes get with older accommodations.
Location & Camden Vibes
Being right in Camden means you’re walking distance from the famous markets, but here’s what most people don’t realize — Fortess Road itself is actually on the quieter side of the area. You get all the energy of Camden Town without the constant street noise that comes with being right on the High Street. The Tube station is maybe a seven-minute walk, and honestly, that little bit of distance from the tourist chaos is a blessing.
The Space Itself
This three-star spot doesn’t try to be fancy, and that works in its favor. The double room is compact but thoughtfully laid out — you know how some small London rooms feel cramped? This one actually breathes a bit. The refurbishment includes decent bedding and a clean, modern feel that makes the space feel bigger than it probably is. There’s basic tea and coffee facilities, which is pretty much essential for any London stay if you ask me.
Practical Considerations
Look, this isn’t a place with a fancy restaurant downstairs or elaborate amenities — it’s straightforward accommodation that does the job well. The bathroom is small but functional (again, very London), and the heating actually works properly, which isn’t always a given in older buildings around here. What I appreciated most was having reliable Wi-Fi and enough plug points — those little things that can make or break a stay.
Why Guests Love It
The real appeal here is the combination of being properly renovated and genuinely well-located without the premium prices of fancier Camden hotels. You’re close enough to walk to Primrose Hill for those Instagram-worthy city views, but also just a short hop to central London via the Northern line. For travelers who want to experience Camden’s character without sacrificing comfort or spending a fortune, this newly refurbished room hits that sweet spot nicely.
Guest reviews
"Clean, comfy and convenient. Great value for money - would stay again."
The room was big and bright and the bed was very comfy. The house was warm at all times. There was a sink in our room which was very convenient.
What could be improved: The shower in the big bathroom on the second floor was poor and barely any water pressure. Kitchen could also be better stocked with plates and glasses.

"Good"
The place was homey and the host was very responsive and helpful.

"Very Basic accomodation"
Kitchen, pots, sinks on the room, comfy bed
What could be improved: Kitchen was not clean, no mops for toilets, single glazed windows so it was really cold at night (cant sleep with heating on), no tea bags.
Also, bath towels were old, water pressure in bathroom is low and the cover clothe had a funny smell.

"Amazing Location!"
The location was fantastic, 25 minutes to Camden market, super close to an underground station on the Northern line, and a bus stop right outside. Lots of food options just down the road, including a supermarket. Kitchen and laundry facilities provided. Shared bathrooms, but there's more than one, so never had an issue of needing to wait.

"ATTENTION: BED BUGS! 🪳🪳🪳"
What could be improved: There were bedbugs in the room, we realized this after the second night, having multiple bites on our bodies. When contacting the owner about finding a solution he didn't respond.

"Good"
What could be improved: Nella cucina erano presenti poche stoviglie e in generale gli ambienti poco puliti (bagni e cucina) a causa dei vari inquilini presenti. All’esterno, sia all’ingresso che nel giardino sul retro, molto caos e presenza di rifiuti/oggetti abbandonati
