Modern Flat in London
First Impressions
Modern Flat in London might sound pretty basic from the name, but honestly, this unique boutique hotel without official star rating surprised me in the best way. Tucked away on Christchurch Road in Lambeth, it’s one of those places that feels more like staying at a design-savvy friend’s place than a typical hotel. The building has this lovely Victorian exterior that gives no hint of the sleek, contemporary space waiting inside.
Location & Neighborhood
Lambeth isn’t exactly where most tourists think to stay, but that’s actually what makes it brilliant. You’re genuinely living like a local here — there’s a proper community feel with independent cafes and that amazing weekend market just a short walk away. London Bridge and the South Bank are maybe 15 minutes on foot, which means you can easily reach all the major attractions without paying tourist-area hotel prices.
The Space
What you get is essentially a fully-equipped apartment rather than a standard hotel room, and the difference is huge. The kitchen is actually functional — I mean, it has everything you need if you want to cook a proper meal or just make coffee that doesn’t taste terrible. The living area flows naturally into the sleeping space, and there’s enough room to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped.
Modern Touches
The design here really works — clean lines, quality furniture, and those little details that show someone actually thought about how people live. The WiFi is solid (I worked from here a couple of days), the shower pressure is excellent, and there’s proper storage space. You know what I appreciated most? The windows are big enough that you get decent natural light, which isn’t always a given in London accommodations.
Why Guests Love It
This place fills a gap that a lot of London stays miss — you get the independence and space of an Airbnb with the reliability and service standards of a boutique hotel. The 8.9 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s ideal for anyone who wants to experience London from a local perspective rather than being stuck in the touristy bits, plus the value for money is genuinely good for what you get in this city.
London’s apartments welcome long stays with terrace views, museum access, and bike routes to hidden mews streets.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
