Overview
First Impressions
Campania & Jones House sits on a quiet residential street in Bethnal Green, and honestly, you might walk right past it if you’re not paying attention. It’s housed in what looks like a pair of converted Victorian townhouses, with that understated London charm that doesn’t scream “hotel” from the curb. The entrance is refreshingly intimate — no grand lobby nonsense, just a cozy reception area that feels more like stepping into someone’s well-appointed home.
The Neighborhood Vibe
You’re in Tower Hamlets here, which means you’re getting the real London experience without the tourist crowds. Ezra Street is tucked away from the main roads, so it’s surprisingly peaceful for being so central. What I love about this area is that you can walk to Brick Lane for incredible curry in about ten minutes, or catch the overground from nearby Bethnal Green station and be in central London in no time. The Columbia Road Flower Market is practically on your doorstep too — perfect for Sunday morning wandering.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had that perfect balance of period character and modern comfort. High ceilings, original sash windows, but with a rainfall shower that actually works properly — you know what I mean if you’ve stayed in other period properties around London. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-comfortable), and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase, which isn’t always a given in this city. Each room feels individually designed rather than cookie-cutter corporate.
Standout Details
What really impressed me was the attention to small things that matter when you’re traveling. The WiFi actually reaches every corner of the building, there’s proper parking available (rare for this part of London), and the staff seem to genuinely know the area well. When I asked about good coffee nearby, the receptionist didn’t just point me to the nearest chain — she sent me to a little place around the corner that locals actually use. The four-star rating feels spot-on; it’s polished without being stuffy.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it gets the fundamentals right while giving you a proper sense of place. You’re not in some generic hotel bubble — you’re staying in a real London neighborhood where people actually live and work. The 9.6 guest rating makes sense when you experience how smoothly everything runs, from check-in to checkout. It’s the kind of hotel where you’d happily book the same apartment again because you know exactly what you’re getting, and it delivers every time.

"Great property in a lovely location."
Beautifully decorated and lovely furniture. Property was nice and warm. Beds were very comfortable and the bedding was good quality.
What could be improved: The outside stairs were a little tricky but manageable. We found the front door lock quite difficult when we first got there, but got the hang of it during the stay.

It's a dream hutch in the trees. It feels like a hobbit house on entering. Then it opens up with high ceilings, sky lights, big soft beds, old functional windows, original wooden floors, I thought I was in a dream.
I'll be back.

"Magical"
Super unique and full of atmosphere and style. Spacious bedroom and living room, fully equipped kitchen with a good coffee machine and complimentary bottle of wine. The neighborhood is great with coffee shops, bakeries, pubs and restaurants, and very comfortable public transportation to the city center.
What could be improved: The narrow stairs leading to the apartment are a little bit tricky with heavy suitcases and not suitable for elderly or handicaps. There are also stairs leading to the attic.

"This beautiful flat in the Flower Market district exceeds expectations and shows you local charm."
One of the best vacation spots I’ve ever stayed in. The neighborhood is gorgeous. Stay for Sunday morning’s Columbia Flower Market! We had such a lovely time exploring the shops and restaurants nearby and you can rent city bikes easily. The flat has lots of charm and is beautiful. The hosts left us dinner ingredients and wine which was so kind and lovely.it really is a gem in a great part of London. Feeling so lucky to have stayed here!

Perfect location right by Colombia Rd but quiet enough to get a good night's sleep (even on market day). Quirky decor and lovely period features.

"Exceptional"
Exceptional and beautiful home, into which a great deal of time and thought has been sunk. Honestly, it felt like being in another world. We went to sleep to the sound of happy, convivial diners down below (joy!) and woke to find Columbia Road coming alive with the Sunday flower market. The area is vibrant with two busy pubs within a couple of minutes walk, and it’s a ten minute stroll to Brick Lane or the nearest tube station. We loved the curated collection of photography books in the sitting room (we are big fans of Saul Leiter and thoroughly enjoyed looking through his retrospectives). The master bed is very comfortable, the bath is gorgeous and the efficient heating meant we were warm and snug all night. We loved it so much we have already booked again for next month! Do not hesitate to forgo the accommodation of the normal “tourist” areas and instead immerse yourself in this friendly and exciting area of London.
What could be improved: We have no criticism at all!

"Cool London Flat hidden down a quiet cobbled street."
Loved the location as there was so much within a short walk. Pubs restaurants bars parks shops etc.
Columbia Flower Market, London Fields & Broadway markets all within close reach.
Beautifully presented throughout and some lovely touches like scented candles, candles, cooking ingredients and recipes left for us by the hosts, together with a lovely bottle of wine.
We loved it there and would definitely want to return next time we’re down.
What could be improved: Wasn’t available for our next booking!!!
