Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Lovely Kensington Apartments on the High Street, you’ll notice it doesn’t scream “hotel” — and that’s actually part of its charm. This four-star property blends right into the Victorian terraced buildings that line this busy stretch of Kensington, which means you feel like you’re staying somewhere locals might actually live. The entrance is understated, almost residential, which I found refreshing after staying in so many cookie-cutter hotels.
The Apartment Experience
Each apartment here feels like borrowing a friend’s flat rather than checking into a standard hotel room. The one I stayed in had a proper kitchen — not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation, but actual counter space and a full-size cooktop where you could make a decent meal. The living areas have that slightly worn-in comfort that makes you want to kick off your shoes immediately. You know what impressed me most? The windows are actually soundproofed well enough that the High Street traffic becomes just background hum.
Location Perks
Being right on Kensington High Street means you’re in the thick of things without feeling touristy. There’s a Whole Foods literally next door — perfect for stocking that kitchen I mentioned — and you can walk to Hyde Park in about three minutes when you need to escape the city buzz. The Tube station is close enough that you don’t think twice about hopping over to central London, but honestly, there’s enough happening right in this neighborhood that I found myself exploring locally more than I expected.
Practical Details
The building’s older bones mean some quirks — the lift is tiny and occasionally temperamental, and the parking situation is pretty much nonexistent unless you’re willing to pay London street rates. But the staff actually knows the neighborhood well enough to give you proper recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots. They pointed me toward a brilliant little restaurant tucked away on a side street that I never would have found otherwise.
Why Guests Love It
What makes this place work is that balance between independence and service — you get the space and freedom of having your own place, but there’s still someone to call if the wifi cuts out or you need fresh towels. The apartments feel lived-in rather than sterile, and the location gives you that rare thing in London: easy access to everything without feeling like you’re staying in Times Square. It’s not perfect — the 7.6 rating feels about right — but for the price point and the neighborhood, it delivers exactly what it promises.

"A good apartment with new facilities inside. We had a comfortable and enjoyable stay."
Good and excellent location. It has a modern feel and is clean.
What could be improved: Apartment has new furnitures and fittings but some fittings seem flimsy

"Lovely modern appartment very cute and great location. But v small space."
The location is superb just in High St Ken as well as good security of the flat - the management was amazing- very responsive when we asked questions and for extra glasses.
What could be improved: The flat was tiny for a 2 bedroom - we booked for 5 people. So in the end we were only 4 due to the space constraint (one of our family had to stay elsewhere).

"Comfortable stay in a great location"
Location was fantastic with metro station and super market just minutes away.
The hosts were very attentive with somebody replying to our message fairly quickly.
Very comfortable bed.
What could be improved: Being in the centre of busy city the traffic was very noisy all the time. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
Bad smell from the pipes/drains in the bathroom. Not overpowering but definitely noticeable.

"Nice appartment, comfortable and close to shops, restaurants and public transport."
Nice apartment in an excellent, safe part of London. The appartment is close to shops, restaurants and public transport. Bus stop is opposite the appartment and the underground a short walk away. Host was very accomodating and quick to respond. Would stay here again.
What could be improved: The blinds on the windows could use updating as light cames in through the windows at night.

"Nice stay"
Good location and felt very much like home.
What could be improved: Strange smell in the bathroom. Also at nighttime it was really warm and to have any air we had to open windows but street is so loud. Apartment is a little warn out. Overall it all was not a big problem.

"Great location but the unit itself wasn't in great condition"
The location was perfect! Nice view from the apartment and felt safe.
What could be improved: The apartment was built very poorly - the windows looked like they were all going to break (which would be very dangerous as we were on the top floor), the bathroom smelled really strange and it was quite noisy in the bedroom at night from the road (this was also caused by the windows not fully closing). Also a lot of stairs and no lift.
I complained about the bathroom smell and asked if the plumber could come once I checked out, but they insisted he came earlier. When we got back to the apartment, the plumber had left the door open with all our belongings inside!
