Overview

First Impressions

Fleet Street Apartment 3 sits right in the heart of historic London, and honestly, the location hits you before anything else does. When I first walked up to 143-144 Fleet Street, I mean, you’re literally standing where centuries of journalists and lawyers have walked — it’s got this weight to it that you don’t get in newer parts of the city. This three-star apartment might not be flashy, but there’s something genuinely appealing about staying somewhere so steeped in London’s story.

The Space Itself

The room is what you’d expect from a converted Fleet Street building — compact but thoughtfully laid out, with those slightly uneven floors that remind you this place has been around the block. There’s a proper kitchen setup that actually works well if you’re planning to grab groceries from the nearby Tesco Express and cook a meal or two. The windows face out onto Fleet Street itself, so you’ll hear the city humming below — personally, I found it kind of comforting, but light sleepers might want to pack earplugs.

Location Perks

Here’s what I really loved about staying here — you’re a five-minute walk from St. Paul’s Cathedral and maybe ten minutes from the Thames. But more practically, there’s a Pret A Manger right around the corner for quick coffee, and that little pub, Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, is literally down the street (Dickens used to drink there, which is pretty cool). The Temple tube station is close enough that getting anywhere in London is straightforward, though honestly, I found myself walking most places because everything felt so accessible.

Practical Considerations

Look, this isn’t a hotel with a concierge or room service — it’s a self-contained apartment rental, so you’re pretty much on your own once you check in. The building itself is older, which means narrow staircases and no lift, something to keep in mind if you’re traveling with heavy luggage. There’s no dedicated parking either, but frankly, you don’t want a car in this part of London anyway. What you do get is independence and a genuine sense of living in the city rather than just visiting it.

Why Guests Love It

The real appeal here is authenticity — you’re staying in a proper London flat in one of the city’s most historic neighborhoods, not some sterile hotel room. I’d wake up, grab coffee from the local café, and feel like I was experiencing London the way locals do. Fleet Street Apartment 3 works particularly well for travelers who want to explore on their own terms and don’t need hand-holding. It’s honest accommodation in an extraordinary location, and sometimes that’s exactly what makes a trip memorable.

"Loved London . Good place to set out from every morning for a day of adventure"
Very central to all the favourite tourist spots. Close to underground . Easy transport to airport via train. Lots of pubs nearby and Tesco. Washer dryer very convenient
What could be improved: Very very noisy every night . Bedroom windows are immediately above the outdoor area of a busy pub . So even with windows closed we got to hear shouting laughing up until 11pm on 5/5 nights . Happy noise but still noise if you are light sleeper . Be aware there about 60 stairs to get your luggage up . Ok for us but others may struggle

"Clean and comfortable, close to shopping, restaurants and embankment."
The flat was clean and comfortable. Lots of storage and hanging space Easy access to building and flat.
What could be improved: No cups/mugs for tea and coffee. The construction was noisy but only during the day. Stairs to to 3rd floor can be a challenge.

"Really nice place! And nice host!"
Very good place for London, near the center of the city, really well equipped, nice bathrooms and showers. Spacious, comfortable and nice.
What could be improved: We had a bad surprise doing the check-in, someone was still in our appartement and we couldn't drop in our luggages. The host was very nice and told us the apartment would be ready soon. They managed to resolve the problem anyways

"overall great spot! great for a long weekend stay."
great location — quick walk to all of the sites and very central.
What could be improved: *this is NOT the property’s fault* — but please be aware when booking that it’s on the 3rd floor with no elevator. If you’re traveling with a lot of luggage it will take multiple trips up! air conditioning was not great but the apartment did provide a few fans.

"Great location, spacious appartment with easy access, clean and comfortable."
The location and ease of check-in and check-out was great. Very close to St Paul's cathedral and Blackfriars tube station. The apartment was spacious with two bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen and nice living area. The host provided lots of information about local amenities and detailed information about our stay beforehand.
What could be improved: There were no mugs to make coffee so we had to use glasses which wasn't the most practical. Due to the flat being close to a road, there was quite a lot of noise from people and traffic. It would have been nice to be able to leave bags when checking out but the host was clear this wasn't possible from the outset and also provided alternative information.

"Good"
Excellent location. Clean and good kitchen facilities Supervise with 2nd bathroom
What could be improved: It's quite difficult for me to take 4 big luggage to go upstairs of 3rd floor. The stairs is too narrow to take luggage.

"Brilliant location. Had a super time."
Easy to collect keys and get in. Location was amazing. Place was clean and tidy.
What could be improved: Internet did not work. We alerted the hosts but we were unable to resolve for the week of our stay.

"Huge noise in bedrooms and water leakage disturbed our stay."
Location is ok - close to Thameslink station and St Paul.
What could be improved: 1) Huge noise form the outside - below the apartment (bedrooms side) there is a pub with outside space . Children could not sleep. This should be written in the offer that there is such a problem there. 2)Water leakage from and ceiling and walls during rainfall - very old building and some construction problems. I can provide pictures and recordings . 3) Smoke alarm launches when using toaster equipped in the kitchen - even with ventilation system on or windows open - really crazy and impacting problem. 4)Nobody reacted (manager or owner) to help us . Be careful with this place - I had never experience such a bad situations while travelling .

"Passable"
The apartment itself was lovely
What could be improved: The noise from the flat upstairs was unacceptable. No sleep 2 nights in a row which just ruined our days out. I booked because it said there was a noise detector so figured it would be peaceful as such but ther people upstairs wake at 11pm and dont go sleep till gone 7 am and ive never in my life heard noise like it. Kept all kids awake too.

"Un très bon séjour !"
Les volumes de l’appartement, la salle d’eau caché dans le placard, la luminosité, la situation
What could be improved: Immeuble datant de 1850 donc isolation phonique pas bonne , les stores ne sont pas de bonne qualité et luminosité importante
