Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Kingswood on a quiet residential street in Bromley, you get the sense this place knows exactly what it is — a straightforward, well-run three-star hotel that doesn’t pretend to be anything fancy. The Victorian building has character without being fussy about it, and honestly, that’s refreshing after staying at places that try too hard.
The Room Experience
My room was clean and functional — the kind of space where everything works properly and nothing feels worn down. The beds are actually comfortable (I mean, not hotel-chain soft, but proper firm), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. You know what I appreciated? The heating that responds when you adjust it, and windows that open easily for fresh air.
Location Perks
Here’s the thing about Bromley — it’s one of those outer London spots that locals know but tourists often overlook. You’re close enough to central London (about 30 minutes by train), but far enough out that you’re not paying Zone 1 prices for everything. There’s a decent high street nearby, and the area feels properly English suburban without being boring.
Practical Details
The staff here seem to have been around for a while, which shows in how smoothly things run. Parking is available, which anyone who’s driven in London will tell you is worth its weight in gold. Breakfast is hearty British fare — nothing revolutionary, but it sets you up for the day properly. The restaurant serves evening meals too, though I’d probably explore the local pubs for dinner if I were staying more than one night.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
Kingswood works because it delivers on its promises without any surprises — good or bad. It’s the kind of place business travelers book repeatedly because they know what they’re getting, and leisure guests appreciate because it feels like staying somewhere real rather than a corporate formula. The 8.4 rating makes perfect sense when you experience it firsthand.
London hotels keep travelers close to Tower Bridge views, iconic shopping streets, and tube lines to world-class museums.

"Good"
Great sized room.
Very friendly owners.
What could be improved: Because the owners live obove you do get noise, but no more than in hotels.
Bed only a double.

Very clean and spacious.
What could be improved: The only thing was that when showering the bathroom floor gets very wet.

"Will happily stay again"
Excellent value for money. Has fridge and microwave in room which is great. Clear instructions from host for checkin / check out.Comfortable bed.
What could be improved: Location is a 10 min bus ride from Bromley High Street which was fine for me but might not suit everyone.

"Lovely quiet space perfect for short stay."
It was a lovely space with everything someone might need for a short stay. Comfortable, clean, good amenities for preparing basic food, nice shower, and entertainment options.
What could be improved: There was nothing really that I didn’t like 😊
The only thing I would suggest (couldn’t find anything like that, though may have missed it) is providing crockery cleaning soap and spounges.

Nice space and everything we needed for a comfortable overnight stay.
What could be improved: Nothing.

"Superb"
Very good value for money, the bed was very comfortable. Hosts gave very good instructions on gaining access and parking was plentiful. We would happily stay again.
What could be improved: Although there was tea and coffee available, we were unable to find any milk sachets or coffeemate. Perhaps two wine glasses and maybe a self in the shower room would be useful. But overall, we were very happy and would stay again

"Lovely and I would stay again."
Lovely bright and airy room with thoughtful details included - choice of pillows, extra blankets, towels, tea/coffee even some milk in the little fridge and biscuits in the barrel!
Huge tv and lovely sofa’s to relax on.
Small dining table and chairs even games in the cupboard to keep you occupied.
Very easily accessible.
What could be improved: The bathroom needs a little tlc, some mould in grout, shower head scaled up and shower tends to flood the room a little. A hook on the back of the door and/or a shelf for toiletries would be useful.
The bed was a little lumpy, my back was very sore in the morning.
The plumbing from the main house is very noisy with creaky floorboards so I was aware of all movements from the room upstairs throughout the night.

"Superb"
Lovely studio, far nicer than staying in Travelodge type hotel. Room was clean & tidy, very comfortable and well equipped.
What could be improved: Light switches are on the far wall opposite to front door, which was a challenge returning to the property in the dark and not being able to find them easily (not having needed to use the lights before going out)
Shower head was a bit clogged up which made the shower a bit ineffective, plus no shower tray meant the bathroom floor flooded.
