Walking into Hyde Park Rooftop Apartment feels more like visiting a friend’s stylish flat than checking into typical hotel accommodation. This four-star property sits on Sussex Gardens in Westminster Borough, and honestly, the location alone had me sold before I even saw the apartment. The building itself has that classic London charm — Victorian facade with modern touches that don’t try too hard.
Location & Getting Around
You’re basically a stone’s throw from Hyde Park (hence the name), which means morning jogs or evening strolls are practically mandatory. What I really appreciated was being able to walk to Paddington Station in about ten minutes — perfect for Heathrow connections or day trips to Bath. London‘s Tube network puts most of the city within easy reach, and Sussex Gardens has that nice residential feel without being too far from the action.
The Space
The room — well, it’s more of a studio setup — surprised me with how much space they managed to create. The rooftop element isn’t just marketing speak; you actually get decent views over the neighborhood rooftops toward the park. The kitchenette is compact but functional, which came in handy for breakfast and late-night snacks. I mean, London restaurant prices can add up, so having the option to cook simple meals was a real bonus.
What Makes It Work
The charm here is in the details they got right. The Wi-Fi actually works (you’d be surprised how often this isn’t the case), and the shower has proper water pressure. There’s no on-site restaurant, but honestly, you’re in one of London’s most diverse neighborhoods for food options. The Turkish place around the corner became my regular spot, and there’s a Tesco Express for essentials. Parking is street-side if you’re driving, though I’d recommend sticking to public transport.
Why Guests Love It
What struck me most was how this place manages to feel authentically London without the typical tourist trap vibe. The 8.3 rating makes sense — it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re exploring the city. You get independence, a great location, and enough space to properly unpack without breaking the bank. Plus, having Hyde Park as your backyard for morning coffee? That’s something most London hotels can’t offer.

"Wonderful! Would love to return!"
Location was excellent-very close to parks and public transport options, with vibrant local cafes and shops. We loved the roof terraces and the quirky decor. We also appreciated the excellent appliances and generous amount of consumables/toiletries provided.
What could be improved: There is only one key, and we were a group of people sometimes doing different things, so this needed extra coordination.

"Wonderful place for a wonderful value"
Everything was great, wonderful hosts. Highly recommended. They even let us leave the baggage in the flat earlier than we were supposed to, which is highly appreciated. The location is just perfect, the flat is clean and the view is nice. Highly recommended.
What could be improved: The checkin and checkout times are incorrect on Booking.com. Be careful about that - the checkin is at 15:00, checkout at 11:00. It caused us slight inconvenience, but nothing major. I would book this stay again :)

"Good fit for our family trip to London."
Location was very convenient to Paddington Station and Heathrow Express. Good communication from hosts. Answered multiple emails regarding arrival on Christmas Day. WiFi was not working initially, but hosts notified us when issue was resolved the next day. Kitchen very functional for breakfasts, coffee/tea, etc. Multiple small grocery stores/shops nearby.
What could be improved: No significant complaints. FYI, the elevator is small, so needed a few trips to get party of 4 and bags to top floor. Stairs were fine without bags. Air collected in the faucet line at the kitchen sink which kept surprising us when we turned it on. Water ran fine once the air was out.

Great location. Many nice features in the apartment to make for an easy stay. Everything was very clean and felt homey. Kitchen is fully stocked. Bathroom has nice features. Lots of nice natural light and opportunity to sit outside balcony for both kitchen and master bedroom.
What could be improved: Stairs: Be prepared to walk up/down a flight of stairs every time you come or go from apartment; there is a small elevator that goes to the fourth floor but it's stairs only from floor four to five. Not a problem for us, but if you have mobility issues you will want to be aware. Temperature: Whilst the apartment has windows and doors that open wide to the outdoors, we found it warm which made sleeping difficult. Some fans would have gone a long way. I inquired about fans before arriving and was told yes, there are fans. Upon arriving, I did not find fans except one large floor unit in family room that didn't do much (it was similar to a dehumidifier with fan). I inquired again while there and was told they would look into finding fans to loan but I never heard anything more. We had everything wide open at night but the airflow didn't allow for much breeze into rooms. Fans would have been much appreciated for sleep comfort. Also no top sheets, just fitted sheet and comforter and an additional blanket at foot of bed, so this added to the overheating issue at night. Would have loved a top sheet for a light layer.
