Imperial Leinster Garden Apartment
First Impressions
Walking up to Imperial Leinster Garden Apartment on a tree-lined street in Bayswater, you get that “am I really staying here?” feeling. The Victorian terrace houses look like something from a period drama, and honestly, the whole block has this elegant charm that makes you slow down and actually notice the architecture. It’s one of those four-star places that doesn’t shout about itself — which I actually prefer.
The Space Itself
What you’re getting here is a proper apartment setup, not just a hotel room with a tiny desk. The space feels lived-in rather than sterile, with period features that remind you you’re in a building with actual history. The kitchen is well-equipped enough that you could make a decent breakfast (though honestly, with Hyde Park right there, I’d probably grab coffee and pastries and eat outside). The whole place has this comfortable, residential vibe that makes it easy to settle in for more than just a night or two.
Location and Getting Around
Here’s what I love about this spot in London — you’re literally across from Hyde Park, which means morning jogs or evening walks are basically mandatory. Paddington Station is a ten-minute walk, so if you’re coming in on the Heathrow Express, you won’t be dragging luggage across half the city. The Lancaster Gate tube stop is even closer, putting you two stops from Oxford Circus or a quick ride to South Kensington’s museums.
The Neighborhood Feel
Bayswater has this interesting mix going on — you’ve got the tourist bustle around Hyde Park Corner, but walk a few streets in any direction and you’ll find proper local cafes and that Middle Eastern food scene around Edgware Road (seriously, some of the best Lebanese food in London is a fifteen-minute walk away). It’s not as polished as Kensington, but it feels more real somehow. You know what I mean? There’s actual life happening here beyond just people taking photos.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.1 rating makes sense when you experience the place — it’s not trying to be the fanciest option in town, but it delivers on the basics really well. You get space to spread out, a proper kitchen setup if you want it, and you’re staying somewhere that feels like London rather than just any international city. The value proposition is solid too, especially if you’re used to cramped hotel rooms at twice the price in central areas. It’s the kind of place where you actually unpack your suitcase instead of living out of it.
