Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hausd – Soho on Gerrard Street feels like stepping into someone’s really well-designed home — if that someone happened to have impeccable taste and deep pockets. The lobby’s got this boutique vibe that’s polished but not stuffy, which honestly sets the tone for the whole experience. You’re right in the heart of Chinatown here, so the street buzzes with energy, but once those doors close behind you, it’s surprisingly peaceful.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about staying on Gerrard Street — you’re literally surrounded by some of London’s best dim sum spots and late-night eateries. I mean, you can grab authentic dumplings at 11 PM if you want to. Leicester Square is maybe a three-minute walk, Covent Garden’s just around the corner, and you can actually walk to most West End theaters without breaking a sweat. The Tube’s close too — Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square stations are both right there.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but clever — they’ve maximized every square inch without making it feel cramped. The bed was proper comfortable, and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually works (you know how hit-or-miss those can be). What surprised me was how quiet it was considering you’re on a busy street — the windows do their job well. The design’s modern with warm touches that keep it from feeling cold or corporate.
Dining & Social Spaces
There isn’t a full restaurant on-site, but honestly, why would you need one when you’ve got Chinatown right outside your door? The staff are brilliant at recommending spots nearby — they actually know which places locals go to versus the tourist traps. There’s a small bar area that’s nice for a quiet drink, though most evenings I found myself exploring the neighborhood instead.
Why Guests Love It
This four-star hotel gets the balance right between location and comfort without the premium you’d pay at the big-name places nearby. The service feels personal — staff remember your name and actually seem to care about making your stay work. It’s perfect for someone who wants to be in the thick of things but still have a proper retreat to come back to. Plus, the value’s solid for central London — you’re getting quality without the ridiculous price tag that comes with some of the flashier spots around here.

"Excellent location...For the strong!"
Excellent location and clean and comfy
What could be improved: Lifts not working and lot of floors to carry luggage (an extra one due to wrong floor numbering!)

"Well-equipped apartment in central location"
Very well-equipped apartment with central location. All main spots easy to reach ny walk or underground. Cozy apartment, easy to adjust temperature.
What could be improved: Very minor things, but to mention coat rack and toilet roll holder would need maintenance. Pillow is slightly too hard. On weekends street might be noise.

"Lovely apparment and an excellent location for central London!"
The quality of the property and the furnishings were all very good. Clean and kept to a very high standard. Well fitted kitchen and bathroom with all you need for a short stay. Quiet and private. Would highly recommend the location if you can walk the four flights of stairs when coming and going. Easy walking even as far as South Kensington!
What could be improved: The front door to the property was a bit fiddly to enter sometimes it opened other times not and the front door the appartment was very hard to lock/unlock. Once we knew the knack it was easier. The lift doesn't work and the appartment is on the 4th floor so tricky with luggage. Don't let this put you off though because once in the appartment there are absolutely no complaints it was perfect. Just a shame the doors and lift let it down as all previous reviews also mention this problem.

"Exceptional"
It was awesome! I would always choose to stay in this apartment
What could be improved: The Lift sadly didn‘t work at all… it was very exhausting to go up to the 4. Floor every single time :/

"Great location for shows"
Well located and nice apartment.
What could be improved: Slightly complicated to get in as wasn’t sure what keypad meant what and there were no signs to say what floor we were in etc and the lift wasn’t working but otherwise no complaints at all

"Super!"
Lovely apartment, great location and very secure.
What could be improved: Restaurant extractors around us, but a bit inevitable in Chinatown!

Excellent communication from Alex. A courtesy txt was also sent to say we could check in early If we wanted. As housekeeping was complete.

"Great unit, great location, some fixable issues"
Great location, many amenities in the unit, comfy bed.
What could be improved: Elevator was broken after the first day, and we had to walk up / down four stories with luggage.
No hot water unit unit - fixed after we checked out.
Wi-Fi did not work in bedroom, and spotty in lower level. Could be easily fixed with additional extenders.
