Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Hausd – Leicester Square, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical four-star hotel. The lobby has this modern, almost residential feel that sets it apart from the stuffy traditional places you’ll find scattered around Westminster. It’s tucked right on Gerrard Street — honestly, you couldn’t ask for a better spot if you want to be in the thick of things without paying those ridiculous West End hotel prices.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about this location — you’re literally steps from Leicester Square’s buzz, but Gerrard Street itself has this authentic Chinatown energy that most tourists just walk through without really experiencing. You know what’s great? You can grab dim sum at 2 PM, catch a show in the evening, and still stumble back to your room without navigating London’s night transport chaos. London‘s theater district is right there, and Covent Garden’s just a pleasant five-minute walk if you need some retail therapy.

The Room Experience

The rooms surprised me — they’re more spacious than you’d expect for central London, with these floor-to-ceiling windows that actually open (rare find in the city center). The design leans contemporary without being cold, and there’s proper storage space, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re staying more than a night or two. The bathrooms are well-appointed with decent water pressure — something you shouldn’t take for granted in older London buildings.

Dining & Amenities

The hotel restaurant does solid modern British fare, though I’d actually recommend stepping outside to explore Chinatown’s incredible food scene right at your doorstep. What works well is the 24-hour reception and the business center if you need to sort out tickets or print boarding passes. There’s no spa or pool, but let’s be honest — you’re not staying here to lounge around the hotel when Leicester Square is calling.

Why Guests Love It

The staff genuinely seem to care about making your stay work, and they know the area well enough to give you proper recommendations beyond the tourist traps. The hotel hits that sweet spot where you’re paying for the location and comfort without the premium that comes with staying at one of those heritage properties nearby. It’s particularly great if you’re here for theater, shopping, or just want to feel plugged into London’s energy rather than observing it from a distance.

To book hotel in London for fashion week buzz, travelers reserve early to pair Westminster sunrise walks with evening pub rituals.

"Perfect china town location"
Very responsive by email when the lounge lights didn't work, and fixed very quickly. This is a really quiet location as it's set in the middle of the buildings.

"Loved it!"
It was wonderful. It seemed a little too good to be true when I looked at it online... but nope the flat is exactly how it looked on the pictures. Very well kept and modern and clean! And the location is amazing!
What could be improved: It didnt bother me but just be aware its up 3 flights of stairs

"Very good"
The 2BD apartment is very comfortable, very big for a city like London, especially right on the city center. The apartment had two full bathrooms and a guest bathroom, very convenient. The kitchen had everything one would need.
What could be improved: The fact that there wasn’t a lift (elevator) made things difficult, as the apartment was in the last floor and carrying several suitcases up the stairs, while making sure your toddler didn’t fall, was a task on its own. It also has quite a bit of noise during the weekend at least, since many people in the street are partying and making a lot of noise. Some window acoustic insulation wouldn’t be bad.

"Superb"
Great location for visiting the musical Hadestown (5 mins walk). Modern and supernice flat with a cool rooftop. Vibrant environment with China Town just outside your doorstep.
What could be improved: There is no lift in the building and our flat was on the top floor so we had to carry our heavy suitcases four stairs. The nightlife outside can be quite loud in the apartment.

"The location, including ammentity in the immediate area, and the property itself, were outstanding."
The apartment was ideal, particularly the private bathroom to master bedroom. Cooking and washing facilities were a big bonus. Location was excellent, close to transport and within walking distance of most of the major tourist attractions. Being in China Town, literally, added an extra level of excitement and amenity. Great vibe.
What could be improved: I dont think anything about the accommodation could have been better. Host communication and the property itself exceeded our expectations.

"Best apartment stay we have had in London"
A very busy happening area, Chinatown, noisy but quites down by midnight. Room was spacious and the bed was good for two to sleep in, not like some of the tiny beds you get in England .

"brilliant- met all our needs, nice big comfy beds, and incredibly quiet for the location ."
fantastic location, especially in view of the underground strikes
What could be improved: the shower heads were a bit tricky - in that if you set it for the lower one you still got dripped on by the upper one. It's a small thing and didn't affect enjoyment of the apartment but would take a shower cap next time for the times I don't want to wash my hair. Not something the owners would notice unless they stayed there, which is the only reason I am mentioning it.

"Very good"
The location was great. The rooms are very comfortable.
What could be improved: The apartment was too hot. We couldn't open the windows due to bad smell coming from restaurants around. Kitchenware was limited.

"Very impressed and would definitely recommend."
We liked the location, being in the heart of Chinatown, and very close to Leicester Square. The apartment was spacious, clean and well equipped.
What could be improved: We hadn’t realised it was on the third floor, so a long way up the stairs - and being high up it was pretty hot inside -but the fans were a great help.
