Elegant West Hampstead Stay 3BR
First Impressions
Walking down Agamemnon Road in West Hampstead, you’d almost miss the entrance to Elegant West Hampstead Stay 3BR — it’s tucked away in a converted Victorian basement that somehow manages to feel more like a secret hideaway than underground accommodation. The moment you step inside, though, you realize this four-star place has been thoughtfully designed to maximize every inch of space while keeping things surprisingly bright and airy.
The Space
This isn’t your typical cramped London apartment — the three bedrooms actually feel generous, and there’s a proper living area where you can spread out after a day of exploring. The kitchen is probably the real winner here, fully equipped with everything you need to avoid eating out every meal (which, let’s be honest, gets expensive fast in London). I mean, having a dishwasher in a rental like this? That’s already putting it ahead of most places in this price range.
Location & Getting Around
West Hampstead isn’t the flashiest neighborhood, but that’s exactly why it works so well. You’re genuinely living like a local here — the Thameslink station is about a seven-minute walk, and you can be in central London within 20 minutes. What I really appreciated was having three different tube lines nearby (Jubilee, Metropolitan, and Thameslink), so you’re never stuck if one’s having delays.
The Neighborhood Feel
The area around Agamemnon Road feels properly residential, which means you’ll actually get some sleep at night. There’s a solid little coffee shop called Ginger & White just around the corner that does excellent flat whites, and if you need groceries, there’s a Tesco Express that’s open late. Honestly, after staying in touristy areas before, it was refreshing to be somewhere that felt authentic rather than performative.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.1 rating, this place clearly gets something right — and I think it’s the combination of space, location, and that feeling like you’re staying in someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental. The basement setup might sound questionable on paper, but the windows are large enough that you don’t feel like you’re living underground. Plus, having three bedrooms means groups can actually have some privacy, which is rare in London rentals where you’re usually stacked on top of each other.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
