Overview
First Impressions
Dream studio sits on a quiet residential street in Brixton, and honestly, you might walk past it if you’re not paying attention. It’s this unassuming Victorian conversion that doesn’t scream “hotel” from the outside — which is actually part of its charm. The entrance feels more like you’re visiting a friend’s stylish flat than checking into a traditional hotel, and that sets the tone for the whole experience.
The Space
Each apartment here is essentially a self-contained studio with everything you need for a proper stay. The kitchenette is surprisingly well-equipped — I mean, you’ve got a proper hob, microwave, and even a decent-sized fridge. The design leans modern without being cold, with clean lines and enough space to actually unpack your stuff. You know what I appreciated? The windows are big enough to let in proper light, something you don’t always get in London conversions.
Location & Neighborhood
Brixton gets a mixed reputation, but this part of Lambeth is actually quite pleasant — tree-lined streets and that authentic London residential feel. You’re about a 10-minute walk to Brixton station, which puts you on the Victoria line straight into central London. The area around here has some brilliant Caribbean food spots and independent cafes that most tourists never discover.
What Makes It Work
This unique boutique hotel without official star rating operates more like serviced apartments than a traditional hotel, which means no daily housekeeping unless you request it, but also means you’re not paying for services you might not want. There’s no fancy lobby or concierge, but the self-check-in system works smoothly, and the property manager is responsive when you need them. The Wi-Fi is solid, and there’s even parking available — which, if you know London, is practically gold dust in Zone 2.
Why Guests Love It
The real appeal here is the independence it gives you. You can grab groceries from the Tesco Express down the road and cook your own breakfast, or venture out to explore Brixton Market for something more adventurous. It’s perfect for longer stays when you want to feel less like a tourist and more like a temporary local. The rates are reasonable for what you get — a proper base in London without the premium you’d pay for a hotel closer to the center, and honestly, the transport links make that irrelevant anyway.

"Decent stay"
- Quiet neighborhood. Even if Brixton has a bad reputation, I didn't feel unsafe walking around the streets at night. Though this might depend on the season too. The house is relatively away from the "bad" streets of Brixton, but always be vigilant.
- Good value for the price you pay. A decent and clean apartment. Nice bed for solo travelers.
- Very close to the train station and the bus stops that go to central London.
- Tea and coffee offered.
What could be improved: - As the previous reviewers say, the instructions to find the apartment are not clear so you have to search the entire building, it's like a labyrinth in there 😆. Long story short, as you enter from the main door you have to turn right and then right again and down the stairs from the fire exit.
- The wifi was not working while I was there. Personally I didn't care cause I had mobile data.
- The windows open just slightly, for security reasons I reckon, so keep that in mind.
- Unfortunately you can clearly hear the neighbors talking from the adjacent apartments, so no sound proofing. While I was there fortunately the neighbors stopped talking after midnight so I had a good sleep.

What could be improved: No TV, but then he wants to sit in a room and watch TV anyway

"Very good"
It was in a quiet area and the building was quiet also.
It was ideal for for a night's layover.
What could be improved: It is under a flight path, so a light sleeper may notice noise from 5am.
It was tricky to find the room.
If you head up stairs, you're going the wrong way.

"Great clean and tidy room."
The room is how it is pictured and described - clean, comfortable and nice. The location was good for the access I needed locally in Brixton. The vendor was very nice and helpful.
What could be improved: The overall building was a little foreboding at first and the apartment a little tricky to find on the lower levels.

"Cute and cozy!"
Really cute, cozy little room! Everything you could need in 2 small, well furnished rooms. There is even a microwave! Which I find incredible.
The bed was very comfortable after a long day of travelling and exploring London.
Short 15 minute walk from Brixton tube station and 10 minutes to O2 academy which was exactly what I needed. The area is nice as well, lots of shops, markets and food on the way to the tube.
Nice variety of teas as well as coffee, which was great for packing up in the morning before check out.
Very large wardrobe with mirror front, great for fashion and selfies!
Good amount of electrical sockets so you can charge all your stuff at once in stead of 1 or 2 things at a time.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. They always responded fairly quickly to any messages.
What could be improved: I didn't find the honey or chocolate which was a bummer. But some of the cupboards are up high, and I am 4ft 9", so maybe they were up there.
There are 2 entrances to the property, which in itself isn't an issue. But a few rooms (e.g. I was in 15) are more straightforward to find via the white door. When I first when through the red door I couldn't find my room, as it is through a door I initially thought was a fire exit, so I walked past it.
This wasn't a massive issue however as the staff responded and helped me within minutes of messaging them.
