Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to the Camden Enterprise Hotel on Haverstock Hill, you’d honestly miss it if you weren’t looking — and that’s sort of the point. This unique boutique hotel sits quietly above the Camden chaos, tucked into a Victorian building that feels more like a well-kept secret than a typical tourist spot. The entrance is understated, almost residential, which I actually loved after dealing with London’s flashier hotel lobbies.
The Neighborhood Feel
Here’s what’s brilliant about this location — you’re technically in Camden, but you’re removed from the market madness down the hill. Haverstock Hill has this village-y feel that most visitors never discover, with proper pubs and cafes that locals actually use. The walk to Camden Lock takes maybe ten minutes, but you can also head the other direction toward Belsize Park, which gives you two completely different London experiences from one base.
The Room Experience
My room was compact but thoughtfully designed — none of that cramped London hotel feeling where you’re bumping into furniture. The beds are seriously comfortable, and they’ve managed to fit in proper storage space, which matters when you’re living out of a suitcase. What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re still central London. The windows actually open too, which seems like a small thing until you’ve stayed in sealed hotel boxes elsewhere.
Food and Practical Bits
The restaurant downstairs serves solid modern British food — nothing groundbreaking, but executed well with ingredients that taste like someone cared about sourcing them. Breakfast runs until a reasonable hour, which I appreciated after some late Camden nights. They’ve got decent coffee too, though honestly, you’re better off exploring the independent spots along the hill. Parking isn’t included, but there’s street parking if you’re brave enough to drive in London.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it doesn’t try too hard. The staff know the area properly and give recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist traps — they sent me to a pub quiz in Primrose Hill that turned into one of my favorite London nights. You’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the crowds to decompress. It’s the kind of hotel where you might actually want to hang around in the lobby with a book, rather than just rushing through to your room.
Guest reviews
"Perfect for a short stay (1 night), friendly staff, clean and perfect location."
It was clean and in a very good location. Staff were very friendly.
I spoke with Patrick multiple times and he couldn’t do enough to help.
What could be improved: Perfect location for one night but we stayed for 3. Two people in one room for 3 nights and only 3 hangers to hang up clothes on a rack rather than in a wardrobe can make the room feel quite cramped.

"Perfect location for a gig at the Roundhouse."
Perfect location, clean and comfortable.
What could be improved: Very small space for the amount you pay.

"Would stay again, but bring ear plugs!"
The room was small but very clean and comfortable. Nice tea/coffee selection and bottled water provided in room along with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. We stayed in the Ferdinand street rooms which was a few minutes walk away from the main hotel.
What could be improved: It was a bit noisy with a bar open very late just across from the rooms, but to be honest I think this would be an issue in most places in Camden. The room got very chilly during the night and the duvet was incredibly thin for winter. There was a small plug in fan heater that did warm the small room up quickly but wasn’t something I felt comfortable leaving running all night.

"Great Location . Lovely staff ."
Location is great. Right opposite chalk farm station. Staff were lovely.
What could be improved: Wi-Fi would not connect . No wardrobe. Bedtime tables were thick with dust . Shower head wasn't the best .

"Very happy to stay here again if visiting Camden markets or the roundhouse"
Location was perfect for Chalk Farm tube and Roundhouse . Modern furnishing, compact but very well laid out room, good shower with good water pressure. Was the best nights sleep I’ve had in years . They take soundproofing seriously , double glazing plus secondary glancing and floor to ceiling heavy curtains. Check in and out was easy too
What could be improved: If I was going to be really picky - I would have liked hot chocolate in with the mix of tea/ coffee

"Very pleasant"
Clean and comfy bed.
What could be improved: Above a pub and if you’re on first floor can be a bit noisy but they quieten down later

"I would happily stay again, its really convenient."
The location was great for the event that we were attending over the weekend. It felt very secure and the bed was comfortable.
What could be improved: The shower head was a little low for my partner, when he tried to adjust it to be higher up on the rail it wouldn't stay in place. The hotel is above a pub so I can be noisy at times.
