Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Blandford Hotel on Chiltern Street, you immediately get that boutique London vibe — it’s tucked away on this quiet Georgian street that feels a million miles from the tourist chaos, even though you’re literally minutes from Oxford Street. The building itself has that classic red brick facade that screams proper English charm, and honestly, the entrance feels more like stepping into someone’s rather posh townhouse than a commercial hotel.
The Neighborhood Edge
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re in Marylebone, which is sort of London’s best-kept secret for people who want to feel like locals. Chiltern Street has these incredible independent shops and cafes that most tourists never stumble upon, and Baker Street station is basically around the corner. You can walk to Regent’s Park in about five minutes, which I actually did most mornings because the streets are so pleasant and tree-lined.
The Room Experience
The rooms at this four-star property are what I’d call “intelligently designed” — they’re not huge by any stretch, but every inch feels purposeful. My room had this gorgeous period window that looked out onto the street, and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious with one of those rainfall showers that actually works properly. The décor strikes this nice balance between contemporary comfort and traditional English touches, though I mean, it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top.
Daily Rhythms
Breakfast happens in their ground-floor restaurant, and it’s honestly one of those relaxed affairs where you can linger over coffee and planning your day. The staff here really knows their stuff about the neighborhood — they pointed me toward this fantastic little market on Marylebone High Street that I never would’ve found otherwise. There’s no spa or fancy wellness center, but you know what? Sometimes you just want a well-run hotel that does the basics exceptionally well.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets Blandford Hotel apart is this sense of discovering something special that’s hiding in plain sight. You’re staying in one of London’s most charming neighborhoods, in a hotel that feels personal rather than corporate, and you’re paying reasonable rates for the location and quality. The 7.6 rating makes perfect sense to me — it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers exactly what thoughtful travelers actually want from a London base.
To book a hotel in London during opera season, visitors plan ahead to balance Royal Opera House nights with quiet Regent’s Canal strolls.
Guest reviews
"A small, quiet sanctuary away from the hussle and bussle of the city unlike so many of the larger hotels."
Quiet. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable.
What could be improved: Would have liked a little more fresh fruit options at breakfast.

What could be improved: It was what it is——no high expectations——but good value in London

"Very good"
Got a great room. One of the nicer non-Hilton, RIU or big chain hotels inside london. Good value for money. Stayed one-night.
What could be improved: Cant control the "Summer/Winter" function in AC. Was a bit warm in the room but alright.

"Incredible location! Will stay again!"
Unbelievable location, beautifully presented room, comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and excellent shower (hot and powerful!)
We loved our stay!!!
The location really was phenomenal- less than 5 minute walk to Baker Street station and Madame Tussaud’s, meaning we could get to Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus etc in minutes.
Will definitely stay here again next time we’re back!
What could be improved: There was an awful continuous beeping noise throughout the night outside Room 46 (which was our executive double room.) Unfortunately, it meant my daughter took a long time to get to sleep and it kept me awake the whole night. I couldn’t call reception to report as it would wake my daughter up, so I emailed down but of course they didn’t get it. Staff were sympathetic/apologetic in the morning- maintenance were alerted. Luckily it was an incredibly comfy bed so I was at least comfortable!
I will 100% stay again though! Great central London hotel and quiet/safe street.

"Convenient hot for shorter stay"
Great location near the Baker Street underground station. Nice breakfast with lot of options. Friendly staff and possibility to store the luggage before and after the stay.
What could be improved: The room was not very spacious but the bathroom was instead. Old building might need some renovation.

"Great last minute stay through booking.com when we were let down by Agoda and their supplier"
Clean and bright room. Nice decor. Great breakfast choice. Great value for money. Nice area.
What could be improved: We only stayed one night. The only negative was the size of our room and the closeness of the bed to the window (we had a basement room) but it did not bother me for 1 night as everything else was so great.

"Clean and comfortable for one nights stay, but wouldn’t book that room ( 3 single beds) again"
Good location for underground and nearby restaurants.
Comfy beds. Robes a nice touch but we were there only there for one night so didn’t use them.
What could be improved: Only one hand towel for 3 of us (all adults) and two glasses.
Only 2 coffee pods and 4 cartons of milk, again for 3 of us. Could do with wash cloths
Room for 3 adults was VERY small
