Overview
First Impressions
The 2 Bedroom Flat in Central London – Old St – Zone 1 sits on a quiet stretch of Provost Street, and honestly, you’d walk right past it if you weren’t looking. That’s actually part of its charm — it feels more like staying at a friend’s place than in a typical hotel. The building has that classic London brick facade, and while it’s not flashy, there’s something reassuring about how it blends into the neighborhood.
Location & Neighborhood
Old Street station is about a seven-minute walk away, which means you’re genuinely in Zone 1 without paying Shoreditch High Street prices. London can be tricky when it comes to “central” locations, but this one delivers. You know what’s great? You can walk to Borough Market in about 25 minutes if you’re feeling ambitious, or just hop on the Northern line and be in the West End in no time. The area around Provost Street has this mix of young professionals and longtime residents — you’ll see both trendy coffee shops and proper old-school pubs within a block or two.
The Apartment
This four-star setup really works for groups or families who want actual space to spread out. The two bedrooms are a decent size (well, decent for London standards), and there’s a proper living area where you can actually hang out without feeling cramped. The kitchen is surprisingly well-equipped — I mean, you’ve got everything you need to make breakfast or even cook dinner if you pick up groceries from the Tesco Express down the street. The bathroom is modern and clean, though the water pressure could be better — but that’s pretty much every London flat, isn’t it?
Practical Details
The WiFi works well throughout the apartment, which is more important than it should be but there you have it. Storage space is limited, so don’t bring your entire wardrobe, but there’s enough for a week-long stay. The windows face the street, so you get natural light during the day, though it can get a bit noisy in the mornings with delivery trucks. The building doesn’t have a lift, and this place is on the second floor — something to keep in mind if mobility is a concern.
Why Guests Love It
The real appeal here is the independence you get. Instead of dealing with hotel checkout times and tiny rooms, you have your own space to come and go as you please. The 8.2 rating makes sense when you factor in the location, the value for money, and the fact that you’re not squeezed into a shoebox. It’s particularly good for longer stays — after three or four days, having your own place starts to feel pretty essential. Plus, being able to grab groceries and make your own coffee in the morning? That alone can save you quite a bit during a London trip.

Comfortable and clean.
What could be improved: Keysafe box needs labelling

"Well priced"
Great space for a family of 5. Self contained for cooking iwn meals. Washing machine was very handy. Instructions on arrival were very clear.
Some nice takeaways and convenience stores close by.
What could be improved: Was a bit noisy at times with some of the neighbours.
Couldn't use the left for the smell. But only 2 flights if stairs

"Great flat and location!"
Lovely flat, newly refurbished, clean, spacious and comfortable, perfect for a family holiday! The location is great, about 8 min walk to the nearest tube station. It is also a nice and quite neighborhood. The host was responsive and kind. I would definitely recommend!
What could be improved: The flat was on the second floor of the building, accessible by stairs and elevator. The elevator was not as clean as it should be all the time. If no need to use it, stairs are a much better option.

"Overall the apartment itself is nice but the surroundings are not ideal"
Living room is nice. Kitchen lighting adequate.
What could be improved: The lift stinks like dog urine and horse.
The toilet window was along the main corridor and we thought the frosted glass window did not offer adequate privacy as people could peer through the glass.

"Good flat, comfortable. As at home."
Flat is well-equipped: washing machine, microwave, iron, dishes/ glasses etc. On the kitchen: salt, tea, sugar, coffee etc. Good adjustable temperature. TV. Board games for children
What could be improved: A bit doubtful about door safety

"Good"
The location is great. The apartment is good looking, simple but nice decoration. The windows have very beautiful views on the garden. The building is in the calm and quiet place and easy to get access to the public transport.
What could be improved: The main thing which negatively affect our stay is the common space, i.e. the stairs and the lift, which are very bad smell. We try to run very fast in the stairs to escape from the very bad smell and just use the lift for the suitcases only.

"Really lovely place to stay for visiting London."
Location is a short 10min walk from Old Street station and feels very safe. Use of clothes dryer was very helpful. Owners were kind enough to have our family with young children stay. I don't think there are any direct neighbours as you are right next to the lift and stairway (this means its very quiet).
What could be improved: Very minor things - one kitchen knife only and is very blunt, non-working smoke alarm in kitchen. Communications prior to the day of travel are all automated and not great if you have specific questions. Host does not let you drop off bags before check-in (even though they could easily be left in entrance while cleaning and would have made our day a lot easier). Window in living room, we couldn't get this to work very well. Light in bathroom was temperamental and only worked occasionally. We couldn't get extractor fan in bathroom to work.

"Superb"
Everything was good, communication with the hosts was fast, they responded to everything. Close to the metro, a good, calm neighborhood. Apartment equipped with everything you need, the most surprising thing was the washing machine and dryer (not a drying rack), it was really useful. Definitely order again

"Very good"
Like was very clean and comfortable with some nice extras such as tea, coffee, kitchen roll, shampoo etc.
Dislike: not fault of host, but the general building lift had urine in it on arrival, at night the lift could be heard moving and the neighbouring apartments were loud

"Good Location, no parking though!"
Great location. A nice little apartment for a reasonable price
What could be improved: Street parking is not parking. That should not have been listed under Amenities :(
