Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Aethos London Shoreditch, you immediately know this isn’t your typical luxury hotel. The building itself — a converted Victorian warehouse on Willow Street — feels deliberately understated from the outside, but step through those doors and you’re hit with this incredible mix of industrial heritage and contemporary sophistication. I mean, they’ve kept the original brick walls and soaring ceilings, but everything else screams modern elegance in the best possible way.
The Shoreditch Experience
Honestly, the location is what sold me on this place. You’re right in the heart of London‘s most creative neighborhood, where street art covers every corner and you can stumble into a hidden cocktail bar or pop-up gallery without even trying. The hotel sits perfectly between the buzzing nightlife of Old Street and the quirky shops along Brick Lane — actually, you can walk to Spitalfields Market in about five minutes, which locals will tell you is still the best place for vintage finds on a Sunday morning.
Rooms That Actually Impress
The room I stayed in was this beautiful blend of minimalist design and unexpected luxury touches. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light, and the custom-made furniture feels both comfortable and Instagram-worthy (not that I’m complaining). What really got me was the attention to detail — the locally-sourced toiletries, the record player with a curated vinyl selection, and honestly, the most comfortable bed I’ve encountered in a five-star hotel in ages.
Food & Social Spaces
The ground floor restaurant becomes this lively social hub by evening, and I found myself lingering there way longer than planned. They focus on modern British cuisine with this creative twist that somehow doesn’t feel pretentious — think elevated comfort food that actually tastes like something you’d crave. The cocktail program is seriously impressive too, with bartenders who clearly know their craft and aren’t afraid to experiment with unusual flavor combinations.
Why Guests Love It
You know what sets this place apart? It’s how they’ve managed to create genuine luxury without the stuffiness that usually comes with it. The staff treats you like a friend rather than a transaction, and there’s this effortless cool factor that feels authentic to Shoreditch itself. Whether you’re here for business meetings in the City or exploring London’s art scene, Aethos strikes that perfect balance between sophisticated comfort and neighborhood authenticity that’s surprisingly hard to find.
Best hotels in London blend skyline terraces, modern British style, and classic English breakfast spreads.

"Has to be tried.if you can stay in a suite, do, ot was epic"
The property is absolutely stunning. It was perfect for our anniversary stay. Very relaxing.
What could be improved: The vibe is super chilled. I think it’s all very new and team are finding their feet but it was effortless. The decor is fantastic with out being bling, there is a real air of luxury.

"Best hotel EVER!!!!!"
Everything I love in a hotel. From the relaxing lowlights and scents throughout hallway you immediately know the room is going to be a total zen experience. The beds and pillows were so comfortable, the entire shower area is fabulous, the size of the room is perfect as are all additions to minibar. Really cannot say enough about how wonderful this hotel is, including one of the best breakfast i’ve had anywhere! The staff is beyond fantastic. I don’t think I’ve ever been happier in a hotel or sorrier to leave a room. Also the coolest neighborhood in London
What could be improved: not a single complaint

"Exceptional"
The decor was so tranquil. We lay down on the bed and fell straight to sleep. The staff and the customer service were very personal and quite exceptional.
What could be improved: It's a very expensive hotel to stay at. For the price, we felt a breakfast should have been included.

"Lovely restful stay x"
I wanted Shoreditch and a few in the same area but so glad we chose here. The decor. The staff. The facilities. Would be lovely in Summer too.
What could be improved: Nothing really. Just wish the restaurant was open, but it will be as per website. Nice in there for breakfast.

What could be improved: Breakfast detail. Where we had room service. No butter delivered, no sauces etc even though ordered toast & English breakfast etc. But apart from that no complaints at all!

"100% Recommend booking here, cool, comfy and classy. We will be back!!"
The location for us was just superb, tucked away from the main drag. Lovely and quiet, super comfy bed, really really nice hotel. Would not hesitate to rebook for a stay. The breakfast was 10/10, we went for Matcha Pancakes, Eggs Benedict and Porridge (the best porridge we've ever had by far)
Thank you Aethos and the staff were super helpful.
What could be improved: Drinks in the hotel bar were pretty expensive, 2x rum and coke (£32) which put us off enjoying the bar further when there were many bars just across the street and within walking distance.

Pleasant stay

"Very good"
What could be improved: Rooms are lovely but not practical. As a girl it’s hard to get ready because the bathroom isn’t that big and the lightening isn’t great by the big mirror (junior suite)
