Welcome London – Stay at The Piazza!
First Impressions
Walking up to Welcome London – Stay at The Piazza! on King Street, you’ll immediately notice how perfectly positioned it is — literally steps from Covent Garden’s iconic piazza. The building itself has that classic Westminster charm, with modern touches that hint at what’s inside. I mean, when you’re this close to the Royal Opera House and the buzz of street performers, you know you’ve landed somewhere special.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re genuinely in the heart of London without feeling overwhelmed by it. The West End theaters are practically on your doorstep, and you can walk to Leicester Square in about five minutes when you want that tourist energy. But honestly, some of my favorite moments were just wandering through the quieter lanes around King Street, discovering tiny pubs and shops that locals actually use. The Strand is right there too, which makes getting anywhere in central London ridiculously easy.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was smart — not huge, but cleverly designed in that way London hotels have mastered. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained, which you really appreciate after walking around the city all day. The windows actually open (thank goodness), and if you’re lucky enough to get one facing the piazza side, you’ll catch glimpses of the street life below. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious for central London, and the shower pressure was excellent — something you don’t always get in older buildings around here.
Dining & Amenities
While there isn’t a full-service restaurant on-site, they’ve got partnerships with several places right in the building and nearby that honestly work better than having just one hotel dining option. You’re surrounded by incredible food choices — from the market stalls at Covent Garden to some genuinely good pubs tucked away on the side streets. The four-star touches show up in the details: quality linens, proper tea-making facilities, and staff who actually know the neighborhood well enough to point you toward the good stuff.
Why Guests Love It
What makes Welcome London – Stay at The Piazza! work so well is that perfect balance between being right in the action and having a peaceful base to return to. You can stumble back from a West End show in minutes, but you’re not dealing with the noise and chaos of somewhere like Piccadilly Circus. The parking situation is what you’d expect in central London (meaning, don’t drive here), but the transport links are so good it doesn’t matter. I found myself using this place as a genuine home base rather than just somewhere to sleep — and in a city like London, that’s exactly what you want.
London’s apartments welcome long stays with terrace views, museum access, and bike routes to hidden mews streets.
