BnBNova – Fitzrovia with Balcony near Oxford Circus
First Impressions
Walking up to BnBNova – Fitzrovia with Balcony near Oxford Circus on Mortimer Street, you get that “did I book the right place?” feeling — in the best possible way. This four-star property sits on one of those quintessentially London streets where Georgian architecture meets modern life, and honestly, the building itself has more character than half the chain hotels in the area. The entrance is understated but welcoming, which I actually prefer to those overly flashy lobbies that scream tourist trap.
The Neighborhood Feel
Fitzrovia is one of those London neighborhoods that locals know about but tourists often miss, and that’s exactly what makes staying here special. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Oxford Circus — I mean, you can see the chaos from here — but Mortimer Street itself feels refreshingly calm. There’s a proper British pub around the corner, some excellent coffee spots that aren’t Starbucks, and you know what? The street actually has personality, unlike some of the more sterile areas closer to the main shopping district.
The Space Itself
The apartment setup here is what really sets this place apart from your typical hotel experience. My room had that balcony they promise in the name, and while it’s not huge, it’s perfect for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine — something you definitely can’t get at most central London hotels. The kitchen area is compact but functional, which comes in handy when you want to grab groceries from the Sainsbury’s nearby instead of paying restaurant prices for every meal. Everything feels thoughtfully designed rather than just thrown together.
What Actually Matters
The building maintains that lovely Victorian charm without sacrificing modern comfort — the heating actually works, the WiFi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and the shower has proper water pressure. I’ve stayed in enough London accommodations to know these aren’t givens. The staff seems to understand that balance between being helpful and not hovering, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re trying to feel at home somewhere. Parking isn’t available on-site, but this is central London — you wouldn’t want to drive here anyway.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it gives you the best of both worlds — you’re close enough to walk to Oxford Street, Regent Street, and all the main attractions, but you’re staying somewhere that feels like a real London neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble. The 8.2 rating makes sense when you experience it; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers exactly what it promises. For the price point and location, you’d be hard-pressed to find something with this much character and space in this part of London.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
