First Impressions
Urban Chic – Clink Street sits right in the heart of Southwark, and honestly, the location caught me off guard in the best way. You’re literally steps from the Thames, with Borough Market’s weekend buzz just around the corner. The building itself has this converted warehouse vibe that actually works — industrial touches without feeling cold or unwelcoming.
The Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying in Southwark — you get the real London experience without the touristy madness of Central. The Shard looms overhead (which is pretty cool at night), but you’re also walking distance to proper local pubs and that amazing cheese shop on Winchester Walk. Borough Market on Saturday mornings? Well, that’s something you need to experience at least once.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but cleverly designed — they’ve made every square foot count. Big windows let in plenty of light, and the rainfall shower was honestly better than I expected from a three-star place. The bed was comfortable enough, though the walls are a bit thin if you’re a light sleeper. You know what though? The street-facing rooms give you glimpses of the Thames between buildings.
Dining and Local Eats
There’s no on-site restaurant, but that’s actually not a problem here. You’ve got Champor-Champor (fantastic Thai) two minutes away, and honestly, with Borough Market so close, you’re spoiled for choice. The staff pointed me toward this little coffee spot called Monmouth Coffee — locals queue there every morning, which tells you everything you need to know.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Urban Chic – Clink Street isn’t trying to be something it’s not. It’s a solid base for exploring London, with character and a genuinely great location. The staff actually seem to care — they gave me proper recommendations, not just tourist traps. For the price point and that Southwark location, it delivers exactly what you’d want from a smart city hotel.

"Fun family visit to London!"
The property was spacious, clean and the location was perfect….right in the heart of the city on the Thames.
What could be improved: Our stay was during the fall/winter where we wore jackets and scarves everyday. The only addition I felt was needed to our flat was some jacket hooks in the entry hallway. The hallway is almost 20 feet long so there is plenty of room to install a series of hooks for jackets, scarves and umbrellas.

It was Modern, clean and very spacious! It was also in a great location!
What could be improved: The only downside and it’s a small one was the beds, they weren’t very comfortable and were quite small.

The apartment is spacious and modern, very cool place. It's all brand new and super trendy design.

A truly fantastic apartment, with breathtaking views of The Shard, TheCity and St Paul’s Cathedral up on the glass atrium level..
Beds and linen very comfortable
Kitchen area had everything you need
Lovely furniture and great dimmable lighting
Location right in the middle of Borough Market and 2 minutes from Pubs and Restaurants ( Bills is great for breakfast)
Lift to the top floor, very secure

"Awful. Absolute dogshit"
It was terrible. The property doesn’t match the pictures at all. The only good thing was - enough towels and toilet paper.
What could be improved: It’s not duplex. Doesn’t match a single damn picture. Was dirty and with used soap when we came in. Also strong smell of paint. WiFi couldn’t load google lol. This place is cursed
They fcked up our business and all the possible zoom calls.
