Lovely flat in Camden Town
First Impressions
Lovely flat in Camden Town sits on Royal College Street, and honestly, the name doesn’t do it justice. This four-star apartment feels more like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have excellent taste — if that friend also knew how to run a proper hospitality operation. The building itself has that classic London brick facade, but step inside and you’ll find something that’s been thoughtfully updated without losing its character.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what I love about this spot? It’s properly in Camden without being right in the chaos of the main market area. Royal College Street is residential enough that you can actually sleep at night, but you’re still a five-minute walk from Camden Town tube station. The local Sainsbury’s is literally around the corner — I mean, actually useful when you’re staying somewhere with a proper kitchen setup.
Walking to Camden Market takes maybe ten minutes, and if you’re into that sort of thing, you can easily wander over to Regent’s Park or even make your way to King’s Cross on foot. The neighborhood has this lived-in London feel that tourist hotels in Zone 1 just can’t replicate.
The Space Itself
The room — well, it’s really more of a proper flat — surprised me with how much natural light it gets. The kitchen is actually functional, not one of those token setups with a mini-fridge and a hope. I’m talking full-size appliances, decent counter space, and enough dishes to cook a real meal if you want to skip another pub dinner.
The living area flows nicely into the sleeping space, and they’ve managed to make it feel spacious without being stark. The bed is comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathroom has good water pressure — honestly, sometimes it’s the simple things that make a difference.
What Sets It Apart
This place gets the balance right between being independent and being looked after. There’s proper housekeeping, but you’re not dealing with hotel front desk formalities every time you come and go. The Wi-Fi actually works well enough for video calls, and the heating responds when you adjust it — small victories that matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two.
The 9.1 rating makes sense once you’ve been here. It’s not trying to be fancy, but everything works as it should, and the space feels genuinely comfortable rather than just Instagram-ready.
Why Guests Love It
If you’re the type who gets claustrophobic in tiny London hotel rooms or tired of eating out every meal, this hits differently. You get proper space to spread out, the freedom to grab groceries and cook breakfast, and you’re staying in an actual London neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble. Plus, the value compared to what you’d pay for equivalent space in a traditional hotel? It’s honestly refreshing to find something that delivers exactly what it promises.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
