Overview
First Impressions
The Rokxy Townhouses & Residences – Kings Cross sits on Argyle Square like it’s been waiting for you to discover it. Honestly, walking up to this three-star property feels more like arriving at a friend’s well-appointed London home than checking into a typical hotel. The Georgian townhouse facade blends seamlessly with the surrounding architecture, but there’s something refreshingly modern about the way they’ve approached the whole experience.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re in London proper without the tourist chaos that comes with staying near Oxford Street or Covent Garden. Kings Cross has transformed itself over the past decade — I mean, this used to be the gritty part of town, and now it’s got this perfect mix of authentic London life and genuine cool. The British Library is practically next door, and King’s Cross St. Pancras station is close enough that you can actually manage your luggage without breaking a sweat.
The Space
What sets this place apart is the whole townhouse concept — each room feels like you’re staying in someone’s actual home rather than a cookie-cutter hotel. The interiors strike this nice balance between contemporary comfort and respecting the building’s character. Some units come with their own kitchen setup, which honestly makes all the difference when you want to grab groceries from the nearby Waitrose and have breakfast on your own terms.
The Kings Cross Experience
This neighborhood gives you proper London without trying too hard. There’s a solid restaurant scene developing around here — not flashy Michelin-starred places, but the kind of spots where locals actually eat. Coal Drops Yard is a short walk away, and it’s become this interesting shopping and dining destination that doesn’t feel completely manufactured. Plus, the canal walks are genuinely lovely when the weather cooperates.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.2 rating makes sense once you spend a night here. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — no spa or fancy amenities you’ll never use. Instead, you get thoughtful touches like decent coffee, reliable wifi, and spaces that actually feel livable. The staff seem to understand that sometimes you just want to come and go without a big production. And there’s something refreshing about having your own front door key rather than fumbling with hotel keycards every time you want to pop out for a pint.

"Fantastic location, lovely people"
Very personalised service, and a constant WhatsApp presence to assist throughout the stay. Little nice extras around the place made us feel very valued as customers. Location is superb for getting anywhere in or around London.
What could be improved: The doors are keycoded rather than locked with a key, and at the time we travelled I'm not sure they could be deadlocked or bolted in any way from the inside, which could be a concern for very nervous travellers. Also all formal communications with the hotel are strewn with a lot of emojis - I'd happily recommend it to our younger friends, but older guests might find this style a bit offputting.

"A great place to stay in the centre of London"
The Rokxy Townhouse is excellently located on Argule Square - just near Kings Cross, but far enough away from the busy Euston Road to be nice and quiet. We were thrilled by the effort put in by the staff to welcome us - giving us up-to-date information, providing us with advice and ideas for places to visit during our stay, and making us feel welcome and valued - I honestly believe many other hotels could learn from their levels of service. We loved the little touches, from the gift left in our room to the tea service outside our room the next morning. For a welcoming place to stay in London that puts you right in the middle of things, it's a very good choice!
What could be improved: We didn't really have any complaints, and are grateful for such an enjoyable stay.

"Amazing stay a short distance from kings cross"
Really good location to kings cross, only a few minutes walk away. The rooms are decorated really well & very quirky which we loved.
We got a message as soon as we booked & Yannis was lovely, asking if we were celebrating anything & what we liked drinks & snack wise. He also contacted us on the day with check in information & to let us know that we could message anytime if we needed anything.
When we arrived we had a card & flowers on the bed for us celebrating getting married 😊 we also had a pot of jam to take home and drinks and snacks left for us all free of charge. Such a lovely touch that we haven’t had before.
We had pots of tea waiting outside our room in the morning too.
We wouldn’t definitely stay again! Thank you ☺️
What could be improved: The only little thing that we wasn’t keen on was the sink being outside the bathroom. Not a massive issue but would be nice for everything to be in the bathroom.

"Very quirky decor and a nice homely feel to it"
Very quirky hotel… lovely welcome note and treats on arrival…. And a surprise tea and snack for breakfast placed outside bedroom door …. Walking distance from King’s Cross station and situated in a very quiet residential area with very little traffic and small park close by ..
