The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this interesting blend of heritage touches with modern necessities. The Sunday hotel group clearly put thought into the design — it’s not trying to be flashy, but everything works well. The bed was comfortable (which, let’s be honest, is what really matters), and the bathroom was spotless with decent water pressure. You know what impressed me? The attention to small details like proper reading lights and enough plug sockets near the bed.

For a four-star property, the service felt personal rather than corporate. The staff actually seemed to know what they were talking about when I asked for local recommendations. "Fabulous stay in an authentic part of the East End"
The decor outside our room and inside was beautiful; I enjoyed the photographs and links to the history of the Lansbury family. The room facilities were clean and very modern.
What could be improved: The hotel guests do not have priority for booking meals so we missed out on making a booking at the restaurant. However, the restaurant manager felt sorry for us and squeezed us in. I think it might be best that when checking in, guests are encouraged to book a dinner reservation I. Case they are disappointed; the food is amazing!

Great location and gorgeous building, walkable distance to Canary Wharf . The onsite restaurant was exceptional for our main meal. Loved the bathroom - it was large and clean. The first receptionist was very helpful as was the cleaning lady. The notion of the sauna room is ideal, we had to wait for it to be heated up, which also entailed going to the main reception in my towel , on the floor above) to advise that it wasn’t heating up (less ideal).
What could be improved: The heating did not work via the controls, we had to liaise with the main office for them to control the room temperature . Also, the television did not work at all. As there were no phones in the room, we had to liaise via WhatsApp, this was not always timely or responsive, for example our food had been delivered but we wasn’t notified. In addition, we needed more toilet roll and shower gel as we had a two days stay, luckily for us, the Cleaner was helpful in assisting us, as we hadn’t had a response via WhatsApp.

What could be improved: Would have liked more info about the restaurant - didn’t realise there was one, heavy reliance on using the tv for hotel info which isn’t my thing.

"Lovely hotel, excellent position, immaculately clean with friendly and efficient staff."
we had a club room which was very nice, but we did not know about the steep stairs until we checked in. We managed to cope with these for the 3 nights, but would have been good to have been told up front.
What could be improved: The Sauna and Steam room were broken so were unable to be used. Thought the parking charge was a little high.

What could be improved: The restaurant was only an Indian which we didnt fancy that evening. But allowed us to bring in a takeaway from nearby.

The property is very modern and clean
What could be improved: We arrived on the Saturday and the Home Screen on the to was working. We went out to a concert and when we got back the tv wasn’t working. We reported it on the Sunday morning and went out sight seeing and was told that they would have it sorted for our return. We went got back it still wasn’t working so went to the desk. They came and tried to sort it out and couldn’t. So all weekend the to wasn’t working. Email sent on the Sunday evening and a week on and still no reply
