The ground floor Green Oasis, near the station caught my attention mainly because of its name — and honestly, it delivers on that promise better than you’d expect from a three-star place in London. Located on South Road in Wimbledon, this ground-floor apartment feels more like staying at a friend’s well-kept flat than a typical hotel experience. The entrance is straightforward, no fancy lobby drama, but there’s something refreshing about the simplicity.
The Space and Comfort
The room itself surprised me — it’s actually quite spacious for London standards, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light during the day. You’ve got a proper kitchenette setup, which I found incredibly useful for making morning coffee without having to venture out immediately. The furnishings are clean and modern without trying too hard, and the bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that usual hotel back ache.
Location Benefits
Here’s what I really appreciated — you’re genuinely close to Wimbledon station, maybe a three-minute walk if you’re moving slowly. The area feels residential and safe, with actual locals going about their business rather than tourist chaos. There’s a decent restaurant called The Fox and Grapes just around the corner that serves solid pub food, and you’ll find a Tesco Express within easy walking distance for any essentials.
Practical Considerations
The parking situation is what you’d expect in London — street parking that requires some patience and coin meter feeding. I mean, it’s not ideal, but at least you’re not paying hotel rates for a garage spot. The WiFi worked reliably, which honestly matters more than fancy amenities when you’re trying to stay connected. One thing to note — since it’s ground floor, you might hear some street noise in the early morning, but nothing that kept me awake.
Why Guests Appreciate It
Look, this isn’t going to wow anyone with flashy services or a concierge, but that’s sort of the point. You get a clean, functional space in a genuinely good location without paying premium prices for amenities you probably won’t use anyway. The value proposition makes sense, especially if you’re planning to explore London rather than hang around the hotel. "Noisy and cold but in a good location for me with free parking."
The property was in a great location and offered parking which was great. The kitchen and cooking facilities were good except no working tin opener. There was iron and hair dryer and plenty of space in the room.
What could be improved: The blind was broken on arrival, I fixed this myself. The radiator didn’t work, I was provided with an electric heater after the first night. The room above had different people every night (for 4 nights) and were so loud at 3am waking me up as you hear everything underneath. One morning the fuse box needed attending to as I had no electricity. The pillows are also beyond useable and need replacing. I took my own pillow luckily.

"Very good"
Great location. Room properly equipped with appliances. Easy access but still secure. Love it.
What could be improved: Tiny sink. Thus floor keep getting wet. But understands its a small space. Curtains too thin especially at night when the lights are on. Pillows too flat. easy fix. Otherwise, was great 👍. Would Recommend.

"Was only one night but was lovely setting, building was peaceful, and I kept like a log!"
Lovely location, nice little room in leafy suburban area, in easy cycle distance of Wimbledon station. Nice enough room, basic and pretty clean, all you need especially if only staying a night or 2. Great shower and a very welcome fan!!
What could be improved: Cleanliness could be improved a little but nothing drastic. A couple of beasties visible and some dust needed removing is all. Definitely not actually dirty. Could just be improved a bit.

"A mixed bag"
Good location, very clean room in a quiet area.
What could be improved: Temperamental smart lock on the front door took around 10 minutes to get past it, which wasnt ideal when i was checking in on a night where the temperature was freezing. Within the room the radiator wasn't on, the thermostat was in an awkward spot squeezed between a wall & a a chest of drawers. Even after turning the thermostat dial there was still no heat. Not ideal on a freezing night. Luckily i only needed the room for a few hours & wasn't staying overnight

"Nice room, well equipped, good location"
I was travelling with a dog, so it was very nice to have a little park nearby, as well as some dog-friendly cafes and pubs. The next metro station (Collier's Wood station) is also very close, like 5 minutes walking, taking you to the City of London within 30-40 minutes.
I also liked the equipment of the room like having a fridge and a kettle, so I was able to store my dogs food and warm it up.
I didn't use it but there is also some kind of common area with a kitchen (including a washing machine) and a table with chairs in the backyard. Great if you wanna eat outside.
What could be improved: It's not about the room per se, but in the last night, some people entered the building, making a lot of noise with suitcases, which scared my dog so much that she started barking. Of course, I woke up.
