Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The Dilly on Piccadilly feels like stepping into someone’s very expensive, very well-appointed townhouse — if that someone happened to have impeccable taste and unlimited funds. This five-star luxury hotel occupies a prime spot right across from Green Park, and honestly, the location alone is worth getting excited about. The lobby strikes that perfect balance between grand and welcoming, with rich fabrics and warm lighting that immediately makes you feel like you’ve made a good choice.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s brilliant about staying here? You’re literally in the heart of London without feeling overwhelmed by it. Step out the front door and Green Park is right there — perfect for morning runs or evening strolls when the city gets a bit much. The Royal Academy is practically next door, and you can walk to Bond Street’s shopping in about five minutes. I mean, you’re also close enough to Oxford Street if that’s your thing, but far enough away that you won’t hear the tourist crowds from your window.
The Room Experience
The rooms here feel properly luxurious without being stuffy about it. My room had these gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows that flooded the space with natural light — something you don’t always get in London hotels. The marble bathroom was spacious enough that you could actually move around comfortably, and the rainfall shower had serious water pressure (trust me, this matters after a day of walking around the city). The bed was one of those cloud-like situations where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed whole.
Dining & Amenities
The Dilly’s restaurant and bar scene is where the hotel really shows its personality. The main dining room has this sophisticated yet relaxed vibe — you could easily grab a quick breakfast or settle in for a proper dinner. What I particularly appreciated was how the staff seemed to understand the rhythm of different guests — they knew when you wanted to chat and when you just wanted to eat in peace. The cocktail program is actually quite good too, which isn’t always a given at hotel bars.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something refreshingly understated about The Dilly’s approach to luxury hospitality. It doesn’t try to wow you with over-the-top flourishes or gimmicky amenities — instead, it focuses on getting the fundamentals absolutely right. The service feels genuinely attentive rather than performative, and the whole experience has this effortless quality that makes you want to extend your stay. Plus, having Green Park as your backyard and being walking distance from some of London’s best galleries, shops, and theaters? That’s the kind of convenience that actually enhances your trip rather than just checking a box.

"As always a special and memorable visit to London made even more special by the warm and wonderful staff. We can’t wait"
Staff are all so welcoming and friendly especially to my children. They make us feel well looked after and very comfortable.
Rebecca from guest relations went out of her way to make my son feel so special for his birthday and he was thrilled with his surprises/treats in the bedroom. It is the best way to celebrate a special occasion. The hotel very clean and our room was spacious.
What could be improved: Since the Terrace where breakfast was served has been renovated they seem to have removed the pancake machine. This used to be a big hit with my daughter so she would be disappointed to hear of this. The omelette station was also not available on our visit but I did ask a member of staff and I believe that is coming soon. The queues for self service coffee at breakfast were too long and coffee service would work better

"Perfect, convenient London location; very friendly and supportive team."
Perfect location for a Christmas shopping weekend! great size room and generous twin beds, delicious chocolates in the shape of iconic London landmarks (Big Ben was best!) - loved the hot bath after a lot of walking. Stunning decorations for Christmas, and great cocktails. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
Also appreciated being able to open the window for a bit of fresh air overnight. Housekeeping did a great job.
What could be improved: Not sure why the beds were covered in hearts when we arrived...bit odd for mother and daughter (LOL). Shower wasn't hot, it was stuck so we couldn't change the temperature; mentioned when we left (we should have mentioned earlier, we were just out and about a lot)

"We weouls happily stay again."
The food was excellent, the staff were courteous and very helpful. The location of the hotel was ideal for what we planned to do.
What could be improved: Check in was slow not enough people on the desk. Whilst the room was good it was also a little tired.

"Fantastic location, lovely staff and great value!"
We stayed at The Dilly in late November and overall had a very good experience. We booked a family room on the fifth floor and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was—especially for central London. The mattress was extremely comfortable, shower water pressure strong and despite the building’s age, the elevators were fast and efficient, which made getting around the hotel easy. Additionally, we had emailed the hotel notifying them that we were celebrating a birthday, and beautiful decorations, wine and dessert were waiting for us upon arrival as well as personalized messaging from Guest Services. Nice touch!
Breakfast was another highlight. The selection was generous, fresh, and varied enough to suit everyone in our group. The staff throughout the hotel were consistently courteous, helpful, and welcoming, which really enhanced our stay. The location is also unbeatable—right in the heart of the West End, perfect for enjoying the festive lights, Christmas shopping, and theatre performances. Bus stop directly in front and just a few steps from Piccadilly Circus.
Overall, The Dilly is a comfortable and well-located choice, with excellent staff, good value for money and great potential following its upcoming renovation. We would be happy to stay again.
What could be improved: There were a couple of drawbacks: the walls felt quite thin, so noise travelled more than expected, and some of the décor is starting to look a bit tired. However, I understand that a refurbishment is planned for early 2026, and hopefully these aspects will be addressed.

"Loved our stay at The Dilly, will definitely stay here again."
The staff at reception were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The rooms were very comfortable for our short stay. Their breakfast was very tasty and a nice variety was offered. The location is excellent, close walking distance to everything, 50m to the underground.
What could be improved: The rooms need to be upgraded
