Overview
First Impressions
Walking down Marylebone Lane, you almost miss The BoTree – Preferred Hotels and Resorts — which is exactly the point. The entrance is understated in that distinctly British way, where true luxury doesn’t need to announce itself with gold lettering or flashy doormen. Once inside, though, you realize this five-star boutique property is something special. The interiors blend contemporary sophistication with warm touches that make it feel more like an exclusive private club than a traditional hotel.
Location & Neighborhood
Honestly, the Marylebone location is brilliant. You’re tucked away from the tourist chaos but still walking distance to Oxford Street if you need some retail therapy. What I love about this spot is how it sits right in the heart of proper London — you know, the kind where locals actually live and work. The Wallace Collection is practically next door, and there’s this fantastic little deli around the corner that does proper sandwiches. You can walk to Regent’s Park in about ten minutes, which beats dealing with the Tube when you just want some green space.
The Room
The room I stayed in was compact but cleverly designed — they’ve maximized every inch without making it feel cramped. The bed was ridiculously comfortable, and I mean that literally kept me in bed an extra hour each morning kind of comfortable. What struck me most was the attention to detail: proper blackout curtains, outlets exactly where you need them, and a marble bathroom that feels indulgent without being over the top. The rainfall shower was a highlight, though I’ll warn you — the water pressure might spoil you for other hotels.
Dining & Atmosphere
The ground floor restaurant has this relaxed elegance that works whether you’re grabbing a quick breakfast or settling in for dinner. The menu focuses on modern European cuisine with some interesting Asian influences — the duck dish I had was exceptional. Service strikes that perfect balance between attentive and unobtrusive. You’ll often find a mix of business travelers and well-dressed locals, which gives the place a genuine London energy rather than that sterile hotel bubble feeling.
Why Guests Love It
What sets The BoTree apart is how it manages to feel both luxurious and accessible. The staff genuinely seem to care about making your stay smooth — they remembered my coffee preference after the first morning, and the concierge gave me restaurant recommendations that were actually good (not just places that give hotels kickbacks). There’s complimentary parking which is practically unheard of in central London, and the 24-hour room service saved me more than once after long days exploring the city. It’s the kind of place where luxury means thoughtful touches rather than flashy gestures, and that approach really works in this neighborhood.
Savvy travelers reserve a hotel in London before spring brings blossom-lined parks, pop-up exhibitions, and warm evening strolls.

"Great location in a modern, well-equipped, comfortable hotel."
Great location --- tucked back off of Oxford Street and leading nicely into the Marylebone neighbourhood -- and surprisingly quiet. Nicely furnished rooms, quiet and comfortable. Good brand of shampoo / conditioner / body wash / moisturizer (Jo Loves), and the room was stocked with a very good quality of clothes steamer, hair dryer and full-on Dyson hair styling kit. Two very excellent quality dressing gowns were supplied. We also received a complimentary bottle of wine as it was our first stay, which was unexpected, as well as a stock of free Halloween-themed sweets. Nice touch. The whole hotel is also well stocked with fancy umbrellas and shopping bags, appropriate for marching around on foot in the neighbourhood and collecting your treasures. I did take advantage of the 24-hour gym as well, which had everything you'd need for a good workout (variety of cardio equipment, weights etc). Did not eat at the hotel as had made alternative plans.
What could be improved: There are some little 'hidden charges' to be mindful of. Nothing crazy, but one may find it annoying if you expect only to pay the exact amount of the booking 'as advertised'. For example, to make up the sofa bed for my daughter was an extra fee per night (understandable but wasn't entirely clear when booked), and they do apply a discretionary service charge to the bill (again - understandable and I have no issue paying for good service).

"Lovely location, helpful staffs, tastefully decorated and clean rooms."
Location, Decoration, Attention to Details, Staffs, all very good!
I happened to stay when there was a Tube strike, the staff by the entrance went above and beyond, got me a cab from blocks away. I needed to make the business meeting and thanks to him I was able to make it on time.
Thank you so much for the staffs, I recommend this hotel 100%. Also the neighborhood of Marylebone is really cute and filled with lovely shops and restaurants. There is even a farmers market on Sundays. Worth checking it out!
