Cheval Three Quays at The Tower of London
First Impressions
Walking up to Cheval Three Quays at The Tower of London, you immediately sense you’re somewhere special. The building itself has this sophisticated Georgian elegance that fits perfectly with its historic surroundings — I mean, you’re literally steps away from Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. It’s one of those luxury addresses where the doorman actually remembers your name, and the lobby strikes that perfect balance between grand and welcoming.
The Apartments
Here’s what sets this place apart — these aren’t hotel rooms, they’re proper serviced apartments with full kitchens and living spaces. My apartment had floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Thames, and honestly, I spent way too much time just watching the river traffic go by. The kitchen is actually functional too, with a proper oven and everything, though with all the incredible restaurants nearby, I barely used it. The whole space feels like a posh London flat that someone else cleans for you.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s brilliant about this location? You can walk to Borough Market in about ten minutes, catch a show in the West End with a quick Tube ride, or just stroll along the Thames Path whenever you need air. The City of London gets quiet on weekends, which I actually loved — it felt like having this historic part of town almost to yourself. Plus, London Bridge station is right there, so getting anywhere is dead easy.
Service & Amenities
The staff here really get it — they’re helpful without being hovering, if that makes sense. There’s a 24-hour concierge who genuinely knows the area (not just the tourist spots), and they arranged restaurant bookings that I never could’ve gotten on my own. The building has a small gym and spa facilities, nothing massive but perfectly adequate. What impressed me most was the attention to details — fresh flowers, quality linens, that sort of thing that shows they care about the experience.
Why Guests Love It
This five-star property works because it gives you the best of both worlds — the luxury and service of a top hotel, but with the space and privacy of your own place. The Thames views are obviously stunning, but it’s the little things that stick with you: the way the morning light hits the river, having proper space to spread out, being able to walk to Shakespeare’s Globe or St. Paul’s Cathedral when the mood strikes. It’s expensive, sure, but for a special occasion or extended stay in London, it’s honestly worth every penny.
