Overview
First Impressions
The Aristocrat – Fitzrovia – by Frankie Says sits on a quiet street that feels worlds away from the tourist chaos, even though you’re literally minutes from Oxford Street. The building has this understated Georgian charm — you know, the kind where you might walk past it twice before realizing it’s actually your hotel. There’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t scream for attention in a city full of flashy facades.
Location & Neighborhood
Fitzrovia is honestly one of London’s best-kept secrets for staying somewhere that feels authentically local. You’re surrounded by independent coffee shops, art galleries tucked into basement spaces, and pubs that locals actually frequent. The Charlotte Street area buzzes with energy during the day — creative types working on laptops, gallery owners discussing upcoming exhibitions — but quiets down enough at night that you can actually sleep with the windows cracked open.
The Room Experience
I’ll be straight with you — this three-star place punches well above its weight when it comes to room design. The spaces feel more like a stylish friend’s apartment than a typical hotel room, with thoughtful touches like proper reading lights (thank you!) and outlets exactly where you need them. The beds are surprisingly comfortable, and honestly, the shower pressure is better than what I have at home. Each room has its own personality too — some overlook the street’s Georgian architecture, others face a peaceful courtyard.
Dining & Social Spaces
The ground-floor restaurant operates more like a neighborhood bistro that happens to be attached to a hotel. Breakfast feels relaxed rather than rushed — you know those places where you can linger over coffee without staff hovering? That’s the vibe here. The evening menu changes seasonally and focuses on British ingredients done well rather than trying to be overly fancy. I mean, sometimes you just want a perfectly executed fish and chips or a hearty shepherd’s pie after walking around the city all day.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both professional and personal. The staff genuinely seems to enjoy working here — they’ll chat about the neighborhood’s hidden gems or help you figure out the quickest route to avoid Oxford Street crowds during rush hour. There’s reliable Wi-Fi throughout, parking is available if you’re driving (though honestly, you won’t need a car in this location), and the whole place has this lived-in comfort that makes you feel settled rather than just passing through. It’s the kind of spot where you’ll find yourself planning your next London trip before you’ve even checked out.

"Superb"
Very spacious, great location, having two bathrooms and a balcony for its price and location was fantastic.
What could be improved: The bathrooms were a bit small for people who are bigger. I am smaller than my partner and he struggled getting in the shower and sitting on the toilet.
Also the bathroom shower near the living room wasn't usable, it was either extremely cold or scorching hot and the shower box was small.

"Great place to stay to visit London on foot"
The loft is very nice, great balcony, great location and nice view.
What could be improved: I would consider renewing the two bathrooms and remove some doors.

"Central, comfortable, spacious."
Spacious, well equipped, central.
What could be improved: The property was great but work being done to the building exterior while we were there wasn’t so good. That’s temporary though, the property was excellent.

"Great location, great apartment, amazing stay!"
Great location, clean and spacious apartment. Responsive host
What could be improved: Key collection was easy for me to locate and collect keys from there. However, if it were just my parents they would have some difficulty in locating the key box as they are 50 years old

"5* stay on a budget! perfection"
wow. exceptional! if you want glitz and glam book a Hilton however if your coming to London an a budget and looking for somewhere local to everything this is perfect. CLEAN, bright, beautiful and functional! everything we could need and more in the apartment. the updated tv was a lovely surprise! you can really tell the property owners take pride and the apartment and really listen to reviews. after reading some reviews I was alittle worried but I honestly couldn’t have been happier with this apartment. would stay again and again !!
What could be improved: just a little note , the main bathroom fan takes a while to turn …. no issue to us as we just avoided using this toilet before bed since there’s 2 bathrooms and really didn’t affect our stay in the slightest!

"Quiet, Safe and Warm"
The building and area are very quiet, and clean in general. I liked the size of the apartment. It had a small office area which was convenient for work and as a closet. The kitchen was decent. The place was warm and bright, though the furniture could use a refresh. The location was a central, with many restaurants nearby and it less than 10 minutes walk from the tube station.
What could be improved: The self check-in was a hassle. I had an early check-in on a weekend. To get the keys you need to go to a separate location where the lock-box is. It's not far, but not fun trying to figure it out with bags when your tired after a trip. I didn't realize that I didn't have the code to open the lock-box until I got there. I called the emergency number. It took a couple of hours of waiting and follow up until I got the code. The stay was smooth after that. Other minor issues, is that the bathroom is a bit tight, and it's too close to the bed. So it's noisy for someone in bed, especially that the fan takes more that 10 minutes to turn off. Also, the carpet discolored, and seems to be worn down and needs replacement.
