Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Terraced riverview apartment in Flaggstaff House, you immediately know this isn’t your typical London accommodation. This five-star luxury property sits right along the Thames in Lambeth, and honestly — the views hit you before you even step inside. The building itself has this elegant Georgian charm that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something special, even though you’re just minutes from central London.
The Space
The apartment feels more like a sophisticated London home than a hotel room. What I love is how they’ve managed to keep the period features — those high ceilings and original moldings — while fitting it out with genuinely luxurious modern touches. The kitchen is surprisingly well-equipped for a place like this, which means you can actually make proper coffee in the morning instead of relying on those tiny hotel packets.
That River View
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places that promise water views, but this one actually delivers. The terrace (hence the name, I suppose) gives you this unobstructed stretch of the Thames, and you can watch the river traffic drift by while you’re having your morning coffee. During summer evenings, it’s honestly one of the better spots in London to just sit and decompress after a day of sightseeing.
Location & Getting Around
Lambeth isn’t touristy in an obvious way, which is actually refreshing. You’re close enough to Westminster that you can walk across the bridge to Parliament and Big Ben, but far enough from the crowds that you feel like you’re experiencing London rather than just visiting it. The Tube connections are solid — Lambeth North gets you anywhere you need to go, and there’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving, though honestly, you won’t need a car here.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it strikes that balance between luxury and livability. The 8.1 rating makes sense when you experience it — it’s not trying to be the flashiest option in London, but everything here is thoughtfully done. The neighborhood has some excellent gastropubs within walking distance, and you’re positioned perfectly for both South Bank cultural stuff and quick trips into the City. What really sets it apart is how it manages to feel both indulgent and homely at the same time, which is honestly pretty rare in London’s luxury market.
Guest reviews
"It was a great apartment for 2 couples with 2 brms and 2 bathrooms, very convenient."
The apartment is close to transport and several supermarkets
What could be improved: There was no air circulation in the apartment unless we opened the balcony doors. The neighbour smokes on the verandah and the smell came in the apartment and we had to close the doors.

"Your perfect stay to explore London."
Great location with almost direct access to the Tube which leads you to Piccadilly Circus within 15 mins. There is a huge terrace which would be fantastic to use in summer, unfortunately, our stay was in winter.
What could be improved: Some of the lights were flickering. Not worth complaining though.

"Our family enjoyed London and western England and appreciated having the extra space with the 4 of us"
The location was perfect for public transportation , comfortable beds, 2nd floor
What could be improved: Very noisy tenants and outside courtyard, slightly confusing to find.

"Great location, comfortable apartment."
This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment worked very well for 2 adults and 2 teenage boys. Beds were soft but comfortable. Linens were nice. Plenty of hot water. Rooms are spacious with plenty of storage space.
Washing machine was great. Small dishwasher.
There is a very large terrace overlooking the Thames! Vauxhall tube station is literally a minute’s walk away and some of the river boats stop at the local pier. There are 2 restaurants adjacent one of which became a firm favourite of our 2 grandsons - the burgers and the Oreo waffles! My husband and I really enjoyed their other options too.
The owner was very easy to communicate with and very responsive to questions. I would stay here again if in London.
What could be improved: The dryer had 2 settings, in my opinion very hot and extremely hot! I did use it but with caution!
It took us some time to figure out how to use the oven but we found an instruction book.
Could do with a bit more crockery and cutlery.

"NO AC. Don’t believe what they say."
Location was great. Kitchen was pretty well equipped. Quite spacious rooms. Easy access to trains, buses, and boats. There is a Tesco express real close. Several good restaurants in the area. Washing machine and dryer in apartment.
What could be improved: There is NO AC. They say there is but there isn’t and they can’t install it so they provide you with fans that they call “cooling towers”, but they are just fans. If you leave the windows open, the noise on a Friday night was very loud through almost 3 AM.. Chairs and couch were not very comfortable. The beds were ok, but not great. No top sheets so the only option is comforter on or off.

"Enjoyed our stay"
A pier to the river boat, and an entrance to the tube station, right outside the building. Coffee shops, supermarkets, takeaways closeby. View of the river from the terrace. Great location. Helpful manager.
What could be improved: A few minor maintenance issues, but overall, the apartment was in good condition

"Definitely would stay again! Have already recommended to friends."
The first thing I would like to say is that the communication was absolutley amazing! From start to finish this was probably the easiest booking I have ever done. The apartment terrace is the highlight of this apartment we so enjoyed sitting outside and looking at the Thames. When we arrived we dropped off our stuff headed to Borough market got some things that we could cook at the apartment. Finished off what we needed at the Tesco market which is right downstairs and super convienent. The two bedroom, two bath was perfect for the 2 couples. Location was great and an easy walk to Big Ben.
What could be improved: a few light bulbs needed to be replaced. Maybe leave a few directions for the cook top...took us a bit to figure out LOL
