Here’s what I love about Chigwell — you’re close enough to London that you can zip into the city center via the Central line, but far enough out that you actually get some peace and quiet at night. The station’s maybe a fifteen-minute walk, which isn’t bad at all. Plus, having that free parking spot is honestly a game-changer if you’re planning day trips around Essex or just want the freedom to explore without worrying about London’s congestion charges.
Practical Comforts
The kitchen is properly equipped — not just the bare minimum you sometimes get with vacation rentals. You can actually cook a decent meal here, which matters when you’re staying for more than a couple nights. What I appreciated was how everything felt clean and functional without being sterile. The WiFi works well (always a concern), and there’s enough hot water for everyone to shower without that awkward morning shuffle we’ve all experienced in shared accommodations.

"Good"
Good off road parking. Only a few minutes walk from Grange Hill tube station
What could be improved: Although advertised for 5 or 6 people, in the kitchen many it's only had 3 or 4 of (glasses, cups, cutlery, bowls etc). No tea towel or dishwasher tablets.
The front double bed apparently has a new mattress but it has big dips in it (maybe the base is the problem). Very uncomfortable.
The bedside light was broken in the back bedroom (owner said they knew about it so why leave it there?).

"Nicely maintained house in a fantastic location. Made our family trip to London easy!"
The property was in an excellent location. Very close to public transport. Neat and tidy house with plenty of room for the 4 of us
What could be improved: No fans in house, we had some very hot weather and it was very uncomfortable. Would be great to have extra clean sheets and towels as our stay was over 2 weeks long.

"Superb"
It was easy to find the apartment. Location close to tube station and easy to reach the downtown of London. The apartment was in a quite area of Chigwell and met our requirements to be accessible to Chigwell school (just 3-5 minutes drive by uber). Apartment was comfortable for 4 family members. 3 bedrooms and a living room. The kitchen was equipped and making breakfast was not an issue.

Plesant location central to where I needed to be off street parking, clean and for most part comfortable
What could be improved: beds were single beds pushed together , mattress in main bedroom uncomfortable. difficulty using stove top.

"Suitable for 5 people not 6"
House was clean and perfect for what we needed. Warm with the central heating.
What could be improved: The sofa/ sofa bed. We were 6 people and really, the sofa bed isn't ideal for a person to sleep on so the house should be marketed for 5 people not 6. It isn't a proper fold out sofa bed, it's an IKEA sofa that you can make into a larger sofa. OK for a small child but not an adult. You can't put a sheet down so it's literally like sleeping on a cramped sofa.

"Christmas visit to London"
Location and cleanliness. Communication was also very good.
What could be improved: It Could do with some instructions for appliances and guide for the local area. The sofa isn't the most comfortable but was OK and clean.

Location was good, facilities were great!
Close to the train station plus close to were we needed to get to.
What could be improved: Nothing, everything was fine.
Just one of the door hinges was a little lose at the top.
Avoid the use of the door, so it didnt become loose.

"Nice spacious property but lacks the care and attention to detail that would make it fantastic"
Easy to get to by car and had it's own drive way.
The property is pretty spacious, large lounge & dining area.
Kitchen is spacious with lots of lighting.
3 large bedrooms, 2 x double bed and 1 single
What could be improved: Unfortunately the property needs a bit of TLC and attention to ensure that when new occupants arrive that everything is in order and working.
The door between kitchen and diner was hanging off 1 hinge.
Dishwasher didn't work.
The beds could definitely do with some better mattresses, they had seen better days with the springs pretty much gone.

"Good location, very comfortable house."
It’s a lovely house and in a very good location.
It was nice that they left little extras in bathroom and kitchen.
What could be improved: We couldn’t get the hob to work and there are no instructions, although I do use an induction hob at home I couldn’t get this one to work.
And there was a rat running around in the garden, which Needs some bait put down.
Would certainly come again.
