Stylish Apartments – Hyde Park
First Impressions
Stylish Apartments – Hyde Park sits on Sussex Gardens, and honestly, the name pretty much tells you everything you need to know. This four-star property gets the balance right between apartment-style independence and hotel-level service. The building itself has that classic London townhouse feel, but step inside and you’ll find they’ve actually done something interesting with the interiors — contemporary touches without trying too hard to be trendy.
Location That Actually Works
Sussex Gardens isn’t the most glamorous street in London, I’ll give you that, but it’s surprisingly practical. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Paddington Station, which means the Heathrow Express is right there — no dragging luggage across half the city. Hyde Park is genuinely just across the road (hence the name), and I mean genuinely. You can see the park from some of the upper floor windows, which is pretty nice when you’re having your morning coffee.
The Apartment Setup
Each apartment feels more like a proper London flat than a hotel room, which is refreshing. The kitchen areas are compact but functional — you can actually cook a decent meal if you want to, not just reheat takeaway. The living spaces have enough character to feel homey without being cluttered. What I really appreciated was the decent Wi-Fi throughout and proper storage space, because let’s face it, hotel wardrobes are usually terrible.
Neighborhood Reality Check
Westminster Borough around here is a bit of a mixed bag — you’ve got everything from budget hotels to grand Victorian terraces. The area can feel touristy during the day, but it settles down nicely in the evenings. There’s a solid Lebanese restaurant just down the street that locals actually use, and a decent pub around the corner. The Tube connections are excellent — you’re on the Circle, District, Hammersmith & City, and Bakerloo lines at Paddington, so getting anywhere is straightforward.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.8 rating makes sense when you experience the place — it’s not trying to be something it’s not, just doing the apartment-hotel thing really well. The staff are helpful without being intrusive, and there’s proper parking available if you’re driving (which is actually quite rare around here). You get that independence of having your own space, but with housekeeping and reception support when you need it. It’s particularly good for longer stays or if you’re traveling with family — having a proper kitchen and separate living area makes such a difference after a few days of typical hotel rooms.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
