First Impressions
Honestly, when I first spotted Central London Luxury, Relaxing Apartment! 2 Mins from Paddington Station! tucked away on Orsett Terrace, I wasn’t expecting much from the entrance. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that don’t scream for attention from the street. This four-star apartment really surprised me with how thoughtfully it’s been set up — it feels like someone actually lives here rather than just another cookie-cutter rental.
The Perfect Paddington Perch
The location is honestly brilliant if you ask me. I mean, two minutes to Paddington Station sounds like marketing speak, but I timed it — it’s actually that close. You’re in London‘s Zone 1, which means the Heathrow Express is right there, and the Tube connections are endless. What I really love though is how quiet Orsett Terrace stays despite being so central — it’s one of those tree-lined streets that somehow dodges most of the tourist chaos.
The Space Itself
The room setup works really well for what it is. There’s a proper kitchen that’s actually functional (I made coffee and toast without any drama), and the living area doesn’t feel cramped like so many London places do. The decor is modern without being sterile — someone clearly put thought into making it feel homey rather than just Instagram-ready. The bed’s comfortable enough, and honestly, the Wi-Fi actually works properly, which isn’t always a given in older London buildings.
Getting Around
Here’s what locals know — Paddington isn’t just about the train station. You’ve got Little Venice a short walk north, which is genuinely lovely for an evening stroll, and Hyde Park is basically on your doorstep. The Edgware Road is close by too, which means proper Middle Eastern food at all hours if that’s your thing. I found myself walking to Oxford Street more often than taking the Tube because it’s only about fifteen minutes and you pass through some nice neighborhoods.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes this place work is that it feels like a proper London base rather than just somewhere to crash. The combination of being so close to transport links while still being on a residential street is pretty rare in central London. Sure, it’s not fancy hotel service, but if you want independence and don’t mind doing your own thing, this hits the sweet spot between location and value that’s getting harder to find in the city.

What could be improved: As it is right beside Paddington, it was noisier than I'd like, but there is double glazing.

"Very good"
The stay was very pleasant and just what I wanted. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom was very new and clean. The flat provided everything I needed.
What could be improved: The room has no doors which was not an issue, I was just not expecting it. The rooms are a bit chillier with old windows.

It was convenient for Paddington station
Plenty of clean bedding and towels.
Tea/coffee provided
What could be improved: it states in description on booking.com that it’s situated on ground floor, it’s actually not it’s on the 4th floor.
The lift did not work the 3 days:nights we were here. On entering it has a fousty smell.
The door handles are loose, sockets are loose.
WiFi and tv didn’t work the entire time, I did let the host know when we arrived and he said it would be looked at the following day but it still didn’t work.
Sofa bed extremely uncomfortable and only big enough for one person.
My mother in law who came with us on this trip went to cook my son a pizza and found the oven to be filthy.
The sound of trains passing by every few minutes made it difficult to fall asleep.

What could be improved: The elevator was not working for the whole stay… need to hand carry 3 x 20 kG luggage up to 4th floor..
There was no iron for us to iron the cloths before convocation. My wife not happy with it
Hair dryer also seem not working.

"Good for friends both close and far."
The location was a reasonable distance from most, if not all ammenities, such as the train station, grocery stores and other points of interest, making the trip an easy outing with friends both close and far.
What could be improved: Just a bit of maintenance, like the crack in the kitchen window and a bit of the mould in the bathroom, other than that, it was perfect, really loved the oven.

"Easy walk to Paddington"
Close walk to Paddington. Clean & compact. Had all described amenities.
What could be improved: Windows looked over multiple rail lines across the street. Loud at times, but not constant through the night.

"Well located, updated unit in quiet side street with elevator."
This unit was excellently located, in an elevator building just steps from Paddington. it had a nice kitchen, recently updated floors and a nicely appointed bathroom with good hot water and water pressure, a large fridge, cooktop (but we didn't use), the main bed was comfortable, it had a large closet - good for longer stays, but we were just two nights - the location was quiet, the owner/manager was easy to reach and communicate with. windows opened for fresh air (sometimes hard to find in london).
What could be improved: The building sort of feels downtrodden, even though it's also been updated recently. The elevator was TINY, but it worked. Important to note that is is NOT a 1-bedroom, as the description says. It's just one room, like a hotel. Our son's bed was the folding couch, about 4 feet from the main bed. It worked out fine for us, but the description should clarify this - it's a studio or a single living/sleeping room, but not a 1-bedroom. Also, the unit wasn't cleaned in time for the 2pm check-in, despite us being told the cleaner was on the way. we managed it, and the cleaner was nice and did a good job, but just something for management to consider, in case other guests are not able to accommodate.

What could be improved: What could have been better, but this is being a bit picky, was the bed cover which was a bit small for the bed size and was coming off quite easily.
