Location & Getting Around

Here’s the thing about Saint George Wharf — it’s one of those spots that locals know is brilliant but tourists often overlook. You’re literally on the Thames in London, with Vauxhall station just a few minutes’ walk away, which means you can be in Central London or anywhere on the Tube network pretty quickly. I actually prefer this side of the river sometimes; it’s got character without the constant tourist crowds of the South Bank.

The Space Itself

This isn’t your typical hotel room experience — you get a proper two-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen that’s actually equipped for real cooking, not just reheating leftovers. The master bedroom faces the river (obviously the best spot), and the second bedroom is perfect if you’re traveling with family or friends who don’t want to fight over Thames views. The living area flows nicely into the dining space, and there’s enough room to actually spread out your stuff.

Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places that claim “river views,” but this one actually delivers. In the evening, when the lights start twinkling on both sides of the river, it’s pretty special. The balcony (yes, there’s a balcony) means you can actually step outside with your morning coffee.

The building has secure parking available, which is genuinely useful in this part of London if you’re driving. What could be improved: Finding the actual building / parking was pretty difficult at first, I think adding the building name in addition to the address would’ve helped us a lot too.

"A perfect place on the Thames for a stay in London."
This was a wonderful space just steps from the Vauxhall station and some very nice restaurants. It was well-equipped and clean. Our hosts kept us informed of everything we needed to know along the way. They have informative videos and instructions for everything you need to know for a stay at their property. We would definitely stay again.
What could be improved: I wasn't a fan of the key pick up, only because even a 10 minute stroll can be stressful when you are fresh off the plane and don't know where you're going. However, once you get the lay of the land, it's not bad and since it's open 24 hours, it makes sense. The only other issue was having a tough time getting truly hot water for the shower. We managed to get it warm enough to bear.

What could be improved: This is a mere observation & suggestion: there was a smell of cigarettes. It was not over powering and certainly didn’t bother me, but I think some more jasmine “twigs” in the hall & lounge would be good

"Older unit, but it's a good location."
The location and the size of the apartment were great. About three restaurants downstairs connected to property that was open for lunch and dinner.. The beds were comfortable. Host provided great "how-to" instructions on everything from parking; gaining access to unit; to operate the microwave. There was a reference for any questions you may have about the unit. The place was comfortable and clean for the most part. The kitchen is useful to prepare your own breakfast meal because there are not many options nearby for quick grabs.
What could be improved: There wasn't an air conditioning unit in the apartment. However, evening and nights were cool, so we opened windows, which helped. Floors sqeaks really loudly when walking around the unit. Also, the unit has carpet in bedrooms, and carpet holds dirt no matter how often it is vacuumed. I was reminded why I perfer non-carpeted location. The floor cleaner used on the none carpeted areas left a stick residue. Not only did you get the sqeaks from the floor but the stickiness from the residue. If you are not utilizing the kitchen, there's no option for breakfast conveniently located nearby for quick grab and head back upstairs to apartment. .
