First Impressions
Studio in central London sits on London Road in Southwark, and honestly, the name pretty much tells you everything you need to know. This three-star spot is straightforward — compact studios that do exactly what they promise without any frills. The building itself has that typical London brick facade, nothing fancy, but it’s clean and well-maintained.
Location & Getting Around
You know what’s great about Southwark? It’s actually central without feeling touristy every minute of the day. I mean, you’re walking distance to Borough Market (which you absolutely should visit on a Saturday morning), and the South Bank is right there. The Tube connections are solid — you’ve got several stations within reasonable walking distance, so getting to Westminster or the City is pretty painless.
The Studio Space
The room is compact, but they’ve made smart use of the space. There’s a small kitchenette that’s actually functional — not just for show like some places. You can make proper coffee in the morning and maybe heat up something from Borough Market for dinner. The bed is comfortable enough, and there’s decent storage considering the size constraints. Don’t expect loads of space to spread out, but for a solo traveler or couple who’ll be out exploring most of the day, it works well.
Neighborhood Character
Southwark has this nice mix of locals and visitors that I really appreciate. You’ll find proper pubs alongside trendy coffee shops, and the whole area feels lived-in rather than sterile. London Bridge area can get busy during rush hour, but evenings are quite pleasant for wandering around. The Shard is literally right there if you want the tourist experience, but you can also just grab a pint at a local pub and watch football with actual Londoners.
Why Guests Appreciate It
Look, this isn’t going to win any design awards, but it delivers on the basics really well. The price point makes sense for what you get — a clean, functional base in a genuinely central location. I’ve stayed in plenty of London hotels that charge twice as much for less convenient locations. Plus, having that kitchenette means you’re not forced to eat out every single meal, which honestly saves you quite a bit of money in a city like London. It’s the kind of place where you sleep well, make your morning coffee, and head out to explore without feeling like you’re missing out on anything important back at the hotel.
London’s apartments welcome long stays with terrace views, museum access, and bike routes to hidden mews streets.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
